@Naresh Bhople "No need"? - Not quite. Declaring a variable of the same name as a global one in a procedure in fact creates as second variable which prevents the use of the global one in that procedure. The global variable with retain the value it was assigned elsewhere in the project while its doppelgänger loses its value at the end of the procedure. I know, sometimes it's very hard to think up "meaningful names" but the solution nobert seems to apply here is commendable only for its ability to confuse novices. More staid programmers will think of a different name for each scope. — Variatus 21 secs ago

This isn't on-topic for Stack Overflow, but it may help your research to know that these things (groups' names for themselves) are called "denonyms". Also Python programmers are generally Pythonistas. — jonrsharpe just now

The compiler is dumb, it can only do dumb optimisations, but it does them extremely well, much better than most programmers can do. It cannot do smart optimisations like inventing an O(log n) algorithm instead of O(n). That's what people are good at. Let the compiler do its thing, and you do your thing. — n. And that's why software development requires a good amount of theoretical reading. There are a lot of things that seem reasonable but aren't. It's common here to see inheritance, reflection and other things attempted as "clever" designs aimed often at minimizing (perceived) code duplication, and the end result is a tangled mess. You learn that with experience, but you can speed up gaining that experience by studying the theory. Even if it's just by reading softwareengineering.stackexchange.comKayaman 13 secs ago

@BillKarwin my bad, thought this was the right place. Is there a more appropriate section for something like this? To me this makes sense as it would qualify under the "software tools commonly used by programmers" condition, no? When I do the SELECT @@version; I get an error, pretty sure this is just straight MySQL. — Jared 42 secs ago

The question fits softwareengineering.stackexchange.com better. In Vue realm, there's Nuxt which you didn't consider, it's an opinionated answer to some of your troubles. And the primary concern is whether you need the page to be rendered on server side, mostly for SEO. If you don't, you can do as much as you need with Vue client app and REST backend. — Estus Flask 59 secs ago

It seems that you find yourself in a situation that all programmers have once been in. Basically you have an idea for a "product" and aren't sure how to get there. Unfortunately, there are several steps between where you are and where you want to land. Start by breaking down what you want to do into discrete parts and then work on learning them individually. So for data visualization, you want to look at D3; for a webapp framework, perhaps Angular, React or VueJs, etc. Then put it all together and you will be successful once you've learn all the necessary skills. — mcgraphix 25 secs ago

So considering this is not just a simple post a question get a simple answer which is what Stackoverflow is about you might find getting an answer here to be a bit difficult but who knows. Still if you are interested in getting extensive help with this and are comfortable with providing a means to contact you I would fine with reaching out to you with that kind of help. I am currently tutoring for free quite a few online programmers and you would more than welcome to join that endeavor. — Dennis Jensen 43 secs ago

var is not allowed in field declarations of classes (see stackoverflow.com/questions/4496686/var-in-class-gives-error‌). Regarding string vs enum, have you checked out softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/questions/349146/… ? — abondoa 41 secs ago
