Just a minor point that might help next time you talk about C++ with other fellow programmers: "deconstructor" is not part of the language -- it's called the destructor. :) — paddy 31 secs ago

@PatrickRoberts that's what happens. For TS, what you have there is a function which means it would be executed later. As such, it's not possible to guarantee that the state of foo is going to be the same between execution and definition time. Now we as programmers can make that inference because we know that the function is going to be executed before anything else has modifies foo. However, that's not applicable in all cases and it's more work for the compiler to try and find this out. Similar problem here. — VLAZ 42 secs ago

Dev-c++ is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment), not a compiler. An integrated development environment (IDE) is a software application that provides comprehensive facilities to computer programmers for software development.. Dev-c++ is bundled with versions of GCC, so that is probably what you are using. Look in the menus for a place to set compiler options. If there is an option to enable most or all warnings, enable that. If there is a place to enter a custom switch for options, enter -Wall. — Eric Postpischil 42 secs ago

That is a legit reason, however according to this - developer.arm.com/documentation/ddi0337/h/programmers-model/‌… - "Conditional branch completes in a single cycle if the branch is not taken.", so no, not that simple :) Please note that in any case there will be at least one conditional branch that may or may not be taken. — Amomum just now

Dates from 2005 and .NET 2.0, lots of vb.net goodies got added back then. The My namespace is notable. TextFieldParser got a likely nod to help programmers get rid of a dependency on Microsoft.VisualBasic.Compatibility.VB6, it was intended to be temporary. Using it from another language is fine, it is well-designed. — Hans Passant 19 secs ago

First of all, why do people downvote 10 seconds after the question is asked? This forum is sometimes a very hateful and bitter place .As for your question, you might ask why does print_r exist in the first place if var_dump/export both look and act better. In this case it's meant as a quick solution for end users, not for programmers. — LWC 27 secs ago

I recommend either adding a proper minimal reproducible example to make this a better question and allow future programmers to learn from it or deleting it since the answer was so trivial. — user4581301 50 secs ago

The name "accessibilityProps" immediately conveys the purpose of the variable to the programmer reading the code for the first (or even hundredth) time. Replacing this with "a11yProps" very effectively obscures that purpose. The candid comments from Alberto Perez and Steven McConnon demonstrate the extreme opacity of the result -- competent programmers who copy code they don't understand purely because it's there. — Tom Stambaugh 40 secs ago
