@RandomPerson happens all the time. if you have a problem with how i use the tools, you can always use the "contact us" button at the bottom of a page and contact SE staff about me using those tools.
@ThomasWard Chat is mostly meant to be self-moderated if I'm not wrong. Does this mean that room owners and/or mods can decide if deletion of particular messages is appropriate or not?
Also, I am guessing that @ThomasWard removed those messages because you (understandably) thought you were being accused of something. Since Thomas wasn't actually suspecting you and was just joking, it seems reasonable to remove the messages so you don't feel other people might get the wrong idea, @RandomPerson.
and as i indicated @RandomPerson if you want to complain about how a moderator of a given site is handling their site's chat rooms with message cleanup, etc. you need to complain to SE staff iwth the "contact us" button at the bottom of the main site's pages, and complain there.
@RandomPerson Actually, chat is not meant to be self moderated. It's great when it is, but that isn't an expectation. In fact, all moderators from across the Stack Exchange network are also Chat Moderators, and we are expected to step in and make sure everything is calm and civil.
Now, it's great when that's not needed but it is absolutely normal for mods to delete/move messages at their discretion.

@RandomPerson I think we have a number of questions about package management difficulties with MySQL workbench! I wonder if any insights can be gained by searching through them
