@VictorVosMottor I don't know, sounds weird. You could ask a question about it. If you're using wifi you can run this script to generate diagnostic information
@deostroll it might be the frontend netplan.io or NetworkManager I guess. You could certainly go ahead and ask a question about it - that question is from 2014 so an update would be nice.

@deostroll Proper server installs use netplan
I think since 18.04
Older ones use /etc/networks/interfaces , and you can swap to this manually on newer versions

Hello
Does someone here know how to map back and forward to mouse buttons?
Found this: https://askubuntu.com/questions/236529/binding-back-forward-to-mouse-buttons
But don't quite get it....
Need a little guidance
OK, so when I press these extra buttons they aren't registered at all.... they're like dead
while having the xev open

@lewis4u you might want to ask a question on the main site - especially if the mouse needs a configurator tool on windows
Sometimes you might need to send it specific data to activate those buttons and so on

OK tnx for the info

10:33 AM
@lewis4u You need to press the buttons while in the small white xev window. Did you do that this way?

yeah...
not all of them work

Does this also happen for left and right click?

No, they work
this is the mouse:
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41gajjp2haL._AC_SY450_.jpg
Only buttons on the side don't work 3,4,5,6,7
all others do!

It's probably the case that Journeyman Geek mentioned. They need specific software to work and I don't think that the software would be available for Linux.

Maybe I need to install the software on windows and store the settings... maybe then it will be available in Ubuntu.... yeah, like Journeyman said

10:44 AM
If the mouse has an internal memory where it can save the settings, then yes, it is possible. If not, I don't think that there are many things you can do. You can try, however, and see. Also asking a question on the main site wouldn't hurt. Someone could have found a way to activate the buttons. But, to be honest, it doesn't seem very likely.

hmm
Seems to suggest it should work in linux
@lewis4u could you give evtest a shot?

didn't quite understand... what is evtest

@lewis4u its another tool for checking scancodes

Anyone using 21.04?
> Isn't trash named ~/bin? (it is in 21.04) It certainly isn't in ~/.local/share
If I interpreted this comment correctly, Trash is ~/bin in 21.04. If that's the case, something is wrong with Ubuntu/Canonical.
bin is not recycle bin ~_~
> @Kulfy sorry, yes - my bad comment I'm afraid. Indeed, it is ~/.local/share/Trash
Nevermind
