I don't get why my Ubuntu 18 VirtualMachine in VirtualBox does not use swap that is shown in 'top', despite that I have set vm.swappiness=100. Anyone any idea how to fix this?

@user1095332 top in the real machine or top in the vm? I think the hard disk space in the real machine for swap probably is unlawful for vm to use. If so you would have to set aside real estate for vm to use as swap. But I've only used vm to boot and record grub screens so not sure...

That said I've been looking for an excuse to upgrade from 8 GB ram for about 5 years. The day swap ever gets used I finally have an excuse to buy 32 GB ram. @user1095332 this chatroom is the wrong place to ask support questions. The main Ask Ubuntu room will give you thousands of users per day, this room only a dozen people or so.

I came across a recent Q&A in AU's main site where one of the answers is wrong. I posted a "mild" comment for the answer to which there's been no response from the person who posted the answer. The answer has been upvoted more than once but not yet accepted. In general terms, what to do?

How do I enable the screensaver in Ubuntu Server 18.04.3? I know I can disable it by adding consoleblank=0 to the boot, but I actually want it enabled and kick in as soon as possible. Like 2 minutes of no activity. Just installed the server and the screen has been turned on for 3+ hours now so something is preventing it from kicking in?

@terdon @WinEunuuchs2Unix if you check packages.ubuntu.com, gcolor2 is not in the bionic repos. It is now only in xenial. Please also read askubuntu.com/questions/1073990/… and N0rbert's answer there. N0rbert uses Ubuntu Mate among other flavors.

See also Ravexina's link to tracker.debian.org/pkg/gcolor2 indicating that the package was removed in Debian.

@DKBose I'm sorry I have too much to learn with sshfs just today, Python. JSON and GJS to learn from months ago and SQL to learn from decades ago. I understand some of you guys love Mate and nothing personal but I don't want to learn a thing about it. I'm not trying to be callous but hopefully realistic.
