On the server /etc/default/grub contains the following lines: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="gfxpay...

@WinEunuuchs2Unix Voted, but it needs more undelete votes apparently. (2 now: yours and mine)

Q: kern.log being flooded by CIFS STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE. How to stop?

CasperUbuntu 18.04. I have a CIFS mount that apparently blew up somehow. My log is being flooded every 2 seconds by this: [4648495.276604] Status code returned 0xc000006d STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE [4648495.276616] CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -13 [4648495.278630] CIFS VFS: Free previous auth_key.res...

@WinEunuuchs2Unix Indeed. Apparently the system doesn't allow one-vote undeletion of automatically deleted "dead" questions by the OP. I had thought--or perhaps wished--it would.
@Videonauth Thanks.
@Fabby I've posted an answer.

Q: Is Lubuntu 16.04 LTS EOL?

K7AAYText in the last paragraph at this web link seems to limit flavour support: "Maintenance updates are provided for 5 years for Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Cloud, Ubuntu Base, and Ubuntu Kylin. All the remaining flavours are supported for 3 years." Is Lubuntu 16.04 LTS EOL & unsupported a...

@dessert Congrats!
I don't even have the gold badge.

(I need to answer a few more questions.)

@EliahKagan thanks! just today my boss announced that we’ll get linuxacademy.com accounts soon and are expected to use them (at work of course) :>

@dessert Congrats :)

@Ravexina thank you! I expect you to be the next one getting this badge! ;)

@dessert Soon... couple of years actually :))

@dessert Congrats for the dupe hammer :P

oh yeah, nearly forgot about this side effect…

Now I expect to see some future bash questions getting dupe hammered and a comment like "Let me know if doesn't solve the issue"

7:06 PM
@dessert You can also edit dupe banners to add or remove questions or change the order in which they appear!
(But you could already do all this for , of course.)

@EliahKagan exactly, but it’s really helpful – a nice feature

Some days ago I posted an answer to a FileZilla related question. While I believe this answer to be the real solution to the problem (instead of just deleting your configuration), I found (possible) duplicates of the question:
As far as I can see, I cannot mark questions as duplicates and given that none of the accepted answers uses the best solution I have doubts about forwarding people to the duplicate if the accepted answer may not be the best. I don't care about upvotes, but I really like to get the duplicates dealt with. Can anybody in here help? (I'll be offline now and probably check back in ... days, just wanted to get this out :D)
Thanks in advance for any of you helpful folks :)

@EliahKagan Accepted and upgoated! Thanks!
@Kreuvf 1. Answer edited to improve readability
2. Started close vote of those 2 other Q&A to yours
3. Started a +50 bounty process to attract even more upvotes to your answer.
Please remind me to award the bounty as I've just started a new job and I'm kinda busy so don't have much time.

@WinEunuuchs2Unix Good evening... Can you see this one in the reopen queue???
(just wondering if a rollback to previous state removes it from the reopen queue altogether...)

10:56 PM
@Fabby Yes well I see it in both places. Interestingly it is similar to a script I published a couple years ago. That said it's about 14.04 which is off topic.
