tinlyxWhen trying to convert json to csv, I get an error about null with the following jq query: printf "[]" | jq -r '(map(keys) | add | unique) as $cols | map(. as $row | $cols | map($row[.])) as $rows | $cols, $rows[] | @csv' It gives the following error, jq: error (at <stdin>:0): Cannot iterate...

Vote to close reappearing question 6 years old: askubuntu.com/questions/294559/…
@Kulfy Side note, why did you edit this question 4 hours ago when it is so old. I'm wondering if I missed something of value you saw?

Q: My question seemes to be frozen

Codito ergo sumI had a question that was doing very well & the number of views as well as likes was increasing fast, but I don't know why suddenly everything stopped & now it behaves as if it's a duplicate or closed post.Is there any reason? Such a sudden change seems really abnormal.

@WinEunuuchs2Unix There was a suggested edit on the question. I only tried to improve that.

@Kulfy Gotcha. I haven't done review queues in so long I almost forget what they were like.

Q: How to Setup the Network Interface from Ubuntu / KVM to Connect to Windows 7 VM

Rudii want to create a Gameserver in a Windows VM on my Ubuntu 16.04 Server with KVM. I have already installed the vm and it is running properly. I deactivated the Windows Firewall directly in the VM. The Windows VM communicates via a network bridge with the Internet that also works. For my serve...

@WinEunuuchs2Unix Old isn't necessarily a problem. You never know what information might come in handy in the future.

@terdon Oh I agree old answers are often applicable today too. I was referring to old questions that keep popping up because the robot is looking for an answer but the OP hasn't signed on in 6 years and can never accept an answer.

10:54 AM
@WinEunuuchs2Unix Yeah, but that doesn't matter either. I mean, sure, the OP might never come back, but that doesn't make the question less useful.
If it's unclear, then it's a problem since the OP won't be able to clarify it, but that seems both clear and answered, so why close it? The accept is kind of irrelevant. A question is considered answered when it has at least one answer with >0 score.

@Fabby Yes, transit authority that handles subways and buses

11:31 AM
@terdon I guess I have a different perspective. I look for problems to solve. I can't solve the problem when the question is abandoned. The robot keeps throwing abandoned questions on the homepage causing me distractions. But I see your point of view.

11:44 AM
@WinEunuuchs2Unix But why not? I mean, why can't you solve a problem if the question is abandoned? If you post a great answer, then you've solved the problem!
Don't think of these old questions as distractions, think of them as questions you haven't had a chance to answer yet! They're just as valid as anything posted today.

@WinEunuuchs2Unix I agree. The robot could ignore anything tagged with a now unsupported release :=)

12:10 PM
@Rinzwind NOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo! That would be a horrible idea. The vast majority of questions tagged with a release have absolutely nothing to do with that release. See, for example, the 427 questions tagged and : askubuntu.com/questions/tagged/command-line+16.04

12:22 PM
@terdon wronly tagged questions is another issue and has nothing to do with this :=)

12:41 PM
@Rinzwind Ah, but if you were to do this based on tags, as you suggested, it would be a disaster.

not for me :+)

1:53 PM
@Rinzwind But why? I mean, that would just force older questions to be abandoned, even if they're still answerable.

2:07 PM
no. It would mean the bot would ignore them

2:30 PM
Ok another q for you: is this correct? -> askubuntu.com/questions/1158480/… I thought we also answer those q's :P

2:46 PM
Yeah, I was wondering about that. I think it is actually on topic unfortunately.
@user535733 no, such questions are actually explicitly on topic here. See askubuntu.com/help/on-topic where we mention "Services provided by Ubuntu and Canonical". Please be careful and check the site's scope before giving advice to new users. — terdon ♦ 8 secs ago
I reopened.
Although it really pains me to do so. I would love to make Canonical services off topic.

Q: Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS Partition problem during installation

Mubariz HajimuradovI installed Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS by using default settings. I have 2 SSD (both 240GB) drives so I decided to choose "Use an entire disk and set up LVM". After setting up everything I noticed that there's only 3.87 GB total space. I'm trying to setup a web server and I need maximum space and I...

CStafford-14I'm trying to have Ubuntu and Windows 7 dualboot. I couldn't shrink the partitions while in Windows, nor could I do it in GParted. Q: How to reset the terminal cache in the same session properly?

BatuCurrently, I am benchmarking the running time of a package from the terminal. When I use a command with the same file repeatedly, running time was much less than the first one, and this made me think that there might be some 'caching' to make the terminal work faster and I should not trust the va...

Q: XFCE4 notifications over SSH on ubuntu

confettiTask is simple: Send desktop notifications over SSH. I know for this I have to specify not only DISPLAY=:0 but also the dbus address for the user that is running the GUI. In my case, the uid is 1000. On debian, this would be my working command: DISPLAY=:0 DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=unix:path=/ru...

@terdon Every question can be answered. But I weigh the amount of effort a question will require before attempting to answer. Almost all questions require interviewing the OP to get more details. If the OP hasn't signed on in six years the interview is impossible. Plus when the version is 13.04 testing an answer comes with a caveat. Last but not least there is the sanctification you get from the green check mark next to the answer. Not to mention the 15 points it brings.
Long story short I waste my time looking at abandoned questions and robot wastes it's time putting them on my homepage. But I appreciate others don't mind abandoned questions.
@Rinzwind Robot could also put red background behind user name that hasn't signed on in 30 days to represent the fact they really don't care to solve the problem or solved it with a reboot and didn't come back to admit it.
Someone posts Windows 7 question and gets 7 upvotes. I post Windows 7 answer and get downvote. Have I misread this??? askubuntu.com/a/1158294/307523
