My computer has two drives, a boot drive and a storage drive and I'm running Ubuntu 18.04. However, for some reason my storage drive is unusable.

After I set GRUB_GFXMODE it affected GRUB menu and some of subsequent printouts, but in the middle of boot, text becomes very small again and I still want to make resolution smaller.
Where else the resolution is changing during boot?
So I needed to change the current password on my system and I found this article. It works but now I'm afraid about security issues. Is there a way to add an extra security level to prevent my password to be changed from recovery mode?
Today morning my laptop wasn't turning on but charging light was on.later some how i able to turn on my laptop.Can be this Battery Problem? Bc i put it on charging for hour.

@Fabby Have you ever done rotating backups where 28 Dailies are recycled into 12 Weeklies, 18 Monthlies and 999 Yearly backups? It's making my head hurt! Plus I really don't think I need to keep backups for 999 years :(
The daily backup on Saturday December 31 would also be branded a Weekly, Monthly and a Yearly backup! Makes my head hurt.

my backup is a tar converted to base64 for gmail rules. I don't have such a report but was thinking of writing something to give me directory listing of each daily .tar > base64
@Fabby I've worked in MIS before so I know Grandfather-Father-Son backups and all that jazz. I was only sharing my headache with you of converting dailies into weeklies and monthlies. Plus there may not be a perfect match if machine was turned off for one day. Restoring isn't in the cards for me as a machine is only kept active for 2 years and clean installs are done on the new one with copy from old one. In the case of a fire though I would have to restore.
Someone recommended Pascal to me and I thought about Turbo Pascal once. Others recommended Java and thought about it. But now I'm thinking of learning Python + SQL
