@NathanOsman sorry?!
for 5b I would sell it and make a new github :X

7:48 AM
@NathanOsman If that happens I'm moving to Gitlab. I don't distrust Microsoft inherently any more but I prefer an independent service in this instance.

8:11 AM
@DavidFoerster who owns github currently?

8:56 AM
@dessert A bunch of shareholders and investors. It has no parent company.

in a communal application I can specify my own “intended purpose” for the bank transfer – now I’m tempted…

@dessert Don't get too happy about it. There's a restricted character set for SEPA transfer fields and everything else is stripped out.

@DavidFoerster at the bank, sure – but my commune may not be so competent :P

9:48 AM
@DavidFoerster agreed i will then hots my own git, microsoft is just bad. Wasnt it enough that they bought themselfes a platinum linux memmbership card

10:14 AM
@Videonauth I actually welcome Microsoft's Linux efforts. Their strategy towards Linux shifted a few years ago and their actions so far make their words sound genuine.

@DavidFoerster Hey Alice, don'T trust the rabbit ;)

Since the strategy change I noticed no action that threatens or endangers Linux or its ecosystem.

IMHO the only thing they did getting a foot in the door on a level where linuxes fate is decided

They were all either neutral of favourable for Linux as far as I can tell.
…and not in a way that can later be turned against Linux.

@Fabby: Once more (after 4 years of being Veggie/Vegan) I am a meat-eater again (although that raw fish I had yesterday was a little hard on my stomach considering that I am never actually had it before)! :D

10:16 AM
This is for health reasons.

user136984
Some people can cope with a Veggie diet, but I am built for meat.

user136984
And how are you? :)

The fact that Microsoft in the late years pushed more and more towards data collection makes me distrust them
The might have genuine intentions on the Linux Foundadtion, but that will the years to come show. If i might change my opinion about Microsoft

Q: Grub2 package failed installed on dual boot with windows 10

AntonioI have a problem when I installed Ubuntu 18.04 LTS as secondary OS. I used windows 10 before and I want to make dual boot with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. I already create 30GB free space on the disk and I already make USB boot too. I followed the steps to install Ubuntu and make one partition as swap and ...

Q: Why hasn't tty been set up when `~/.profile` is executed

TimOn Lubuntu 18.04, I added a sudo command in ~/.profile, but got the error: sudo: no tty present and no askpass program specified I know the solution is to make the command command NOPASSWD in /etc/suoders. I just wonder why tty hasn't been set up when ~/.profile is executed (in Lubuntu)? T...

@NathanOsman A videographer and good friend of mine with lots of personal and professional acquaintances in the field did a lot of online research for her own small camera like that:
you can find many cheap "copy-cat" products with reasonably good technical specs (i. e. image and lens quality) if you don't expect too much of it and don't care much for extras or niceties beyond the basic functionality. You still need to read online reviews to find models that are both cheap and not crappy.

Ah, okay.
I did some more digging and discovered the Hero (2018) has HDMI out.
That is especially useful to me since I have an HDMI capture card.

One common feature set that these cheap cameras lack is (the processing power for) integrated post-processing. If you don't mind to take care of that yourself on your desktop computer, that's certainly a feature you can omit.
Just don't expect to shoot any footage that looks properly filtered and post-processed in a way that looks great when you upload it straight from your camera to Youtube or Vimeo or whatever.
Some people want or need that because that's how they want to shoot and publish videos.
I can try to look up her action camera model as well as some of the videos she shot with it if you want a frame of reference for what I just said.
