If you want to remount /dev/sda4, do mount -o remount,rw /dev/sda4 or mount -o remount,rw /media/root

also incorrect syntax, you shouldn't put -v at the end

when I was C coding an integer was 2 bytes and a long integer was 4 bytes.

For example unity launcher requires numbers like 0000ffff

so 4 bytes

My grub boot is 1920x1080 - 32 bit according to vbeinfo but I can only max out splash screens at 1600x900 for some reason.

No my card boots up in 1920x1080 just fine... It's just grub splash screen doesn't show the images at that resoulution
