12:00 AM
@NathanOsman - Run it at your leisure, and ping me with the result :)

SE system is picky.

@AndroidDev Having issues connecting my VM to the network, but I'll let you know.

Let's get the total review counter below 200!

@AndroidDev "This application has failed to start because libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll was not found."
Oops - you missed a DLL :P

@ByteCommander Errmmmm... it already is.

12:04 AM
I think that's the C runtime library GCC uses.

@NathanOsman Well I did compile with GCC

That orange bubble shows 208 for me.

You might not see it yet due to rep maybe...

@AndroidDev You could try statically linking against the runtime.

12:06 AM
@ByteCommander I have 188 close, 3 LQ, and everything else 0
@NathanOsman Hrrrmm...

Problem is that if you review a post but don't clear it out of the queue (e.g. because more close votes are needed), it is subtracted from your personal queue counter.

@NathanOsman - I didn't use CodeBlocks, but perhaps stackoverflow.com/questions/4702732/…

Q: ask ubuntu message management

WinEunuuchs2UnixWhen I'm on my phone I can't effectively answer messages because A) I'm all thumbs and B) there is no Ubuntu on my phone. So I put a star on the message hoping to come back to it later only I don't know how to search for star messages when I'm back on my laptop. When I post a comment on a questi...

Happy 18th birthday, Google!
Just woke up and saw a google doodle :D

12:20 AM
@NathanOsman - I just tried the version with the embedded DLL on my XP VM, and it worked fine. Here's the link to the fixed version. Let me know if it works! drive.google.com/open?id=0B-V1bipqDdfkQldteW9oZjNLaVU

Ooh a malware

@Edity Yep :)

Imma smack on some Malware-bytes
>:D

ooo hey @AndroidDev
KILL UEFI
:)

@Edity Your'e going to see if it detects my EXE as malicious? I hope it does.

12:21 AM
I have a sandbox windows just waiting to be destroyed

@Windows3.1 I really hate UEFI
@Edity OOOhhh!

I know :) so do I

@Windows3.1 No, the malware destroys the MBR.

@Edity But leaves your files untouched

yes
Suggestion. Overwrite the MBR saying that "Muhahahahaha! Your MBR has been TOASTED. Enjoy your day!"

12:24 AM
@Edity Yikes, I'm older than Google.
depressed now

why does everyone hate UEFI

o_O

@KazWolfe You again? JK :)

you can't do @Edity's suggestion with UEFI

Uefi is useful
Mkae
Make a hackintosh with a UEFI*

12:26 AM
@KazWolfe Does that mean most webservers are flagged too?

@AndroidDev It detects your EXE

@Edity What does it detect it as?

It says: Virus
a virus
O_o

@Edity That's it?

Uep
But results can differ
@AndroidDev PLEASE don't tell me it executes automatically. I just have the virus downloaded and I'm scared

12:29 AM
@Edity Nope. And you have to run as admin too

@AndroidDev At least it detects something :P
😂
A random iPad emoji

@Edity - Wow, look at the Virus Total result! virustotal.com/en/file/…
@Edity Only one out of 57 detect it!

WTH?!?

@Edity That's pretty bad

Lol

12:32 AM
Have you ever seen that meme "My calculator was in degrees the entire time" ? Yeah, i just had that moment . . . -___-

LOL
So You could run it on as a prank

well, AV usually use signatures as a detection method, so if you wrote it from scratch it's probably not going have a signature in the AV database @AndroidDev

And get away with it

@Edity I'm going to delete it from Google Drive as soon as Nathan Osman tries it.

Okay

12:34 AM
@IanC But still...
@Edity - So did you try it?

No
it got deleted
for an odd reason

@Serg That's rad, man

lol

@Serg Set it on gradians.

@Serg at least you didn't had that moment after a test :P

12:38 AM
@AndroidDev I already know the result

or did you?

Iluminati song plays

@IanC They should have some basic heuristic analyzes though.

@Edity This is what happens:

@ByteCommander true, I don't know much about AV, but they probably go beyond checking for code signatures, but the fact he coded it from scratch makes it at least less likely to get detected

12:41 AM
AW MAN.
Just got an email from DigitalOcean and they have to reboot the host for my VPS.

spoiler alert @AndroidDev

@chaskes lolol nice one

It destroyed the VM!

That thing had over 600 days of consecutive uptime.
My perfect streak, slowly ruined :(

@NathanOsman :(

12:42 AM
:(

@edwinksl I do my best. :)

@NathanOsman the journey was good while it lasted :(

Yup.

maaan, I need to organize my files, they look like my room

LOl

12:46 AM
@IanC at least they can't collect dust

@NathanOsman - So here's the fixed version: drive.google.com/open?id=0B-V1bipqDdfkQldteW9oZjNLaVU

what is the security policy on sudo? Does it have a standard PATH (the basic /bin /usr/(s)bin paths) or does it selectively ignore some paths on PATH? I noticed you can't run scripts as root on your ~/bin dir, unless you explicitly give the path

@AndroidDev Trying...

@NathanOsman RIP GG
About time for the kernel update to take place

@AndroidDev that one's from XP ---^
Next I'll give Windows 7 a shot.

12:48 AM
@ByteCommander yeah! My room is clean though, it's just not really good looking (I know where everything is, but stuff are randomly distributed in the room haha)

Counter it with bootrec.exe /fixmbr!
Autocorrect

@Edity I was going to say...
@NathanOsman I hope you made a snapshot first.

Just completed my 800th First Posts review. \o/

Yay

@AndroidDev Of course :D
So there's that warning ---^
But you'll see that for anything that hasn't been widely seen by Windows.

12:51 AM
@NathanOsman - Check out the Virus Total result: virustotal.com/en/file/…

Worked fine once again.

@NathanOsman - have you ever done anything with a raspi chroot instead of a full on vm for cross-arch builds?

Got a Tumbleweed badge on server fault

@RobotHumans You mean using qemu for emulating syscalls? Or just cross-compiling without running anything?

12:52 AM
@NathanOsman - Check out the Virus Total result: virustotal.com/en/file/…

@AndroidDev Wow, only one detection.

@NathanOsman qemu-user-static to do a chroot without the whole qemu instance running like this

if anyone is a TCP/IP suite protocols guru, and feel like reliving the dead: serverfault.com/questions/796788/…

@NathanOsman That's what I thought. Surprising.

Malwarebytes the most strongest antivirus in the world? Think again.

12:53 AM
@Edity "Most strongest"?

@NathanOsman AVG false positives all the time though. It thought the game Crysis was a virus b/c it used a packer for copy protection...

@AndroidDev only one thing found it??? O_O

@Zacharee1 I know right?

@RobotHumans I don't think I ever did anything like that.

You might want to submit that or something

12:54 AM
I only remember getting sbuild to run on the Pi itself.

@AndroidDev yeah, I'm stupid.

all queues cleared

@NathanOsman Cool - guess I'll give it a try. Seems like a better way to manage an image build than running a full qemu instance.

@Zacharee1 To where?

@AndroidDev idk
find somewhere

12:56 AM
If you submitted it to virustotal, everyone already has it now.

but they didn't recognize it as one

that means it goes into the queue of "might need more study" etc etc

Note: you might not want to host on Google Drive. Pretty sure the ToS forbid transmitting malware. Even with consent.

legasp

@RobotHumans blog.quickmediasolutions.com/2015/11/21/… <--- no idea if that might be helpful to you or not

12:57 AM
I love Discord update messages
> The clock has ticked and the time is now.
The feature you’ve proposed is going out!
So grab your fedora and tip your hat
Because Discord fam has got your back

Thanks for your continued feedback!

@Zacharee1 @NathanOsman Virus Total's behavior report is telling though:

@Zacharee1 lolz

^--- SmartScreen tried

12:59 AM
@NathanOsman I HATE SmartScreen

@Zacharee1 +1

It did its job this time :P

@NathanOsman It always does "its job"
at least what it thinks is its job

Also, technically, it's not a virus if you had to run it and it just nukes the computer. That makes it a trojan anyway...

I guess the only smart thing about Windows SmartScreen is its name.

12:59 AM
you can tell I'm tired because I just said "It's" for possessive
