Hi! I pasted a bunch of environmental variables ("THIS=123" and so on) into the command line by accident, in the same folder where the ".env" is. Nothing seemed to execute, but I'd to be interested to know if any harm was done!

@WayneSmallman No harm done - it will only last in the current shell

If you changed the $PATH variable, it may not work for this session

But as soon as you start another session, everything should be back to normal

People may have noticed this... but Ubuntu 18.04 LTS EOSS was moved to May 2023 (traditionally April) .... May date was first published back in March 2023 (ubuntu.com//blog/18-04-end-of-standard-support) & I received confirmation + reason for change..
