@Zanna Schedule for pt 4 class says 7:30 Sunday for me, I'm in MST=UTC-6 MDT=UTC-7, We start Daylight savings (MDT) Nov 1st at 2:00 am. I need answers to two questions: 1) how do I know if that scheduled time is am or pm? 2) How do I know if its already taking into account the "Fall Back" hour as we say here?

I guess If I knew the UTC time for the class I could determine the rest myself 07:30 is very different than 19:30

and if its fall back then 06:30 and 18:30

@xtrchessreal Yeah it's not really ideal to display only "in your timezone" instead of the UTC time as well! It uses 24 hour clock - for me it says "in your timezone, that's 20:00 on Sunday" - The UTC time is 14:30, so I think it really is 7.30am for you if I'm counting right, so it is taking proper account of the daylight saving switch

I am hoping to slightly rework the material and make it available in a more usable self-study format later. Not that I think it's really good, but just because I've written it so I can.

I'm going to take a break and probably resume the classes from the start of January (or next year if people prefer the classroom to be an annual anniversary thing only) to cover file permissions and various other topics. I'll move it back to UTC 15.00 probably - I put it half an hour earlier so we could fit Artur's in afterwards

OTOH my brother (along with, like, many other people) is in UTC+9 so the later time is too late... really hard to accommodate everyone!

Even as it is seeing other questions and mistakes that many of us make, it feels easy to learn without any anxiety and that "I'm just not getting it" type feeling goes away. I think its fine and I would keep the other participants inputs as you go if you rework it. :)

Yeah ...show me one professor than doesn't make mistakes and I'll show a person that doesn't know how to speak to beginners and loses the audience. Embrace your mistakes as you have been, it works great. No worries :)

Should we tell the OP of this question that the screenshot in the post contains a publicly accessible domain and it shouldn't be shared especially if that was a production environment? or is it better to drop it?

@Dan I edited the screenshot and blurred the sensitive parts. However, the original remains in edit history. Perhaps @Zanna has a special tool to remove it?

@BeastOfCaerbannog yes, we can fix that. If someone wants to raise a custom flag there it would be very helpful as it requires two mods and ought to have a flag history for future reference
