Q: Sound throung only one speaker

greyShaderI have Ubuntu 19.04, and I am facing issues with sounds. When playing audio, I get audio through only one of the speakers (the left one, that is). Also, the volume is pretty low. I run the same on windows 10 (through dual boot), and both speakers run perfectly fine with proper amplification. What...

I have a new built PC.

I7-8700. Asus prime z390-a. GeForce rtx 2080. 8gb ram. 2tb m2. 2tb hard drive (not currently connected during ubuntu install).

After a couple of attempts I managed to install ubuntu.

However after I restarted it now seems to freeze after login.

After researching it it appears this may be a problem with the nvidia drivers.

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS crashes after login

The suggested solution is to install these drivers but how can i do this if I can't log in?

Pick the one you like best:
1. from a tty.
2. from a live session
3. from grub rescue prompt.

How do I setup USB authentication for my system

@LeonidMew You're welcome. It's really weird with that % sign in cronjobs. They say it has to do with newlines or so.

@Bazman Consider using a newer version of Ubuntu than 14.04 since that technically dies some point this month. (if not already)
@ByteCommander You mean a note about it being on topic like I usually do? I've been busy :P
(but this you already know :P)

2:11 PM
yeah, that was what I meant (last week)
it isn't like anybody else could have done that too...

Q: We should put these tags under [lock] and [keys]

Feldspar15523(The only reason these are the same question is for the pun. If they should be split, I can split them.) Neither of these have tag wiki entries. lock has 182 questions, keys has 82. lock has questions about a variety of topics, including screen locks, folders having a lock icon, apt being loc...

Hey @Rinzwind!

hey
question! :+
nemo+nautilus file manager have an option to show sizes as decimal. decimal + long, binary and binary + long
if I would like to add also -only- the long options for those (so show sizes in bytes only) where would I need to start :D and can it be done in python
I would assume that would be a plugin :P

6:25 PM
@Rinzwind I have no clue actually. In dconf, I see no option to set anything on that. I never played with the code of either one...
