11:01 PM
Or maybe I should just start drinking again. Just full-on alcoholism. Easier than seeing people be stupid

@GreatUncleBulgaria I think it's ready for testing...
@dessert I'm using Linux Control groups
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy :D :D :D
Nope! That just hides the problem of stupid people around you because you become stupid when you drink...
;-) :-) ;-)
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy There are 3 kinds of people:
Pessimists, Optimists and Realists...

@Fabby Those who understand binary, those who don't , and those who use hex ?

.
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy :D :D :D
Pessimists think only about the past:
If I would have married this girl... If I would have taken that promotion ...
Optimists only think about today:
Drink yourself silly, Eat yourself silly, Fuck yourself sily, buy that car on the Credit Card today when you have no money to pay it off.
Realists think only about the future:
Plan ahead, save your money, do work now instead of waiting till tomorrow...
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy You following so far?
While he ACKs that, going for a smoke. BRB.

@Fabby Following so far. Was brushing my dog's teeth. Also going for a smoke
Sigh . . . I'm more of a 4th kind of people: I stress out about the past, but also stress out about the present. And frick, if I had sufficient amount of money, I'd be doing the right things people actually do, not the stupidity.
I'm unfortunately, stuck in some sort of limbo, and I've no idea why or what I did

11:18 PM
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy And now comes the clue:
Who of those 3 groups is happiest???
huh? Huh?

None of them

Oh no: the Optimist is: Sex and Drugs and Rock&Roll...
However:
Who lives longest?

Lol, I could have seen it coming
@Fabby Realist

Yup.
So what is the perfect balance?
Learn from your mistakes in the past, but don't let them bother you today!

@Fabby Optimistic Realist

11:21 PM
Live your life today and be happy with what you have
and still plan for the future without forgetting to live today.
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy All three!
Took me 40 years to figure that one out and it's made me much happier and still live the life I want to live...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Now if the all three isn't worthy of a star, I don't know what does!
:D ;-) ;-) ;-) :D

Sigh . . . I can do that. People around me - don't seem so. I often hear - you can change people around yourself. And meanwhile I'm in the loop, I've literally no where to run. Either I go with college, and stagnate, or suffer 10 years or more of complaint of how I abandoned college. Or if I try to do both, still fail half and half.

@SergiyKolodyazhnyy Why stagnate going to college?
OK, I only have a B.Sc. in Chemistry: never continued onto the Masters...
I've never worked as a Chemist after I got my degree...
Does that make me unhappy?
No, I just "rolled into" IT,
started at the bottom rung as a programmer, Analyst-Programmer, Analyst, SysEng, NetEng, DBA, SysArch, IT Manager, IT Director and I'm a bloody Project Manager now.
However all of my experience led me to be the man I am today...

@Fabby Because I've been in college for 9 years almost. Since Fall 2009. And I've 4 difficult classes ahead, so I'm mentally ready to fail again. It started alright, but then fail and fail, retaking classes one after the other.

People in the IT industry don't like PMs...
... I however have no problem finding people asking me:
"hey, when are we going to do another project together???"

I really just count on luck now. If I pass all 4, I'm done in Fall this year. Then again, my GPA is low, no internship, and I don't think I'll want to work with this degree anyway

11:31 PM
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy When I was a kid, a degree was optional.
nowadays, no degree = no foot in the door
(because companies have so much choice, you'll never get a chance to prove yourself)
as they get more CVs than there are jobs.
so the first filter is: "oh, did not have enough perseverance to get a degree"
(Unfortunately...)

Perseverance I have. It's just getting low by now.

"Not enough perseverance" = "will not stay with us"
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy I understand...
and it's tough as in the US college degrees are sooo expensive!
@SergiyKolodyazhnyy Why not go finish your courses abroad and then come back and pass the exams in the US???
Is that possible?
You could go to Granny's home country for 6 months and follow courses there...
Stay with Granny, go to Uni there...
Cheap food, cheap Uni, cheap stay.
IYKWIM

Once of the courses is the second semester of Senior Project class. I've a partner attached, so I don't think it's possible. I wouldn't want to go to Granny. A bit tense relationship (or rather my refusal to forgive) since last year.

Ouch...
Finish then...

Eh, it's fine. I'll figure something out I guess. Or let things figure themselves out. Either way, I'm probably not done suffering

11:38 PM
Don't let things figure out themselves...
Take life by the throat and shake out the maximum you want and need from it.
(but not more neither...)
Because all work and no play makes Jack a very dull (and sad) boy indeed...
:-) :-) :-)
@dessert Thanks for the edit!
Missed that...
OK, going to watch Space 1999 and probably fall asleep while watching it...
Good night all!

sleep well, buddy
