i) nobody else is helped, just you; if you ask on the main site everyone is helped.
ii) nobody is rewarded for helping you. Part of the fun of the site is the reputation system, here you are asking people to help you and you're not even willing to offer useless internet points.
iii) it is hard to answer you and much more work for us. You are asking for help, so you should be doing the work. If you ask a question, you will have to explain everything clearly in the question, show examples data etc. It is very annoying and tiring to have to ask you to provide everything bit by bit as Zanna was doing.

@Benny You mention that you want to avoid duplicates but there are no duplicates in your example. Please edit your question and modify your example so it also has these possible duplicates. That way, we can test our solutions and make sure they do what you need.

everyone. I've just signed up this forum. I've tried to triple boot windows 8.1, Opensuse and Lubuntu (they were installed in this order).But I wanted Lubuntu's entry in Opensuse's Grub. How do I do this?
oh... I'm wondering because I saw someone who uses Manjaro and the DE was really cool, but I didn't have a chance to ask what it was. Pretty sure it wasn't GNOME though
@Zanna And that's fair enough, really. Ubuntu is aimed at novices and people who just want a working computer, not a hobby to tinker with. Nothing wrong with that.
@SumeetDeshmukh No, I said there is no real difference between the various Ubuntus. They're the same thing with a different face. In "normal" Linux distributions, the DE is just another package you can install. I've always had multiple ones installed on pretty much all systems I've ever used.
well MATE is all about maintaining a traditional desktop metaphor while keeping pace with development under the hood - so it will probably be very much the same as it is now whenever you find the time to check it out :)

By security request, I need to set up Ubuntu desktops from my network to not allow the use of flashdrives or USB storage devices. But the USB mouse and keyboard should normally be charged. Is there a simple and effective way to prevent the use of these devices?
@TheWanderer That sounds like an artefact of bad equaliser parameters. Of course it could just be a limitation of the EQ algorithm or the audio hardware/driver altoghether.
It may also be that the module uses a poor (or poorly implemented) EQ algorithm and it would be better to choose a different EQ module. I'm not aware of any other "native" EQ module for PA, but there's a PA module that lets you include arbitrary LADSPA filters, a generic standard interface for audio filters.
Do you have a general idea of PulseAudio's architecture, i. e. how it uses audio sinks and sink-inputs to route audio signals from their producer to some destination, possibly through filter modules etc.?
