Q: How to connect to my VPN in XFCE? (Configuration was properly set up under Unity)

ByteCommanderI have set up a VPN connection back when I used Unity instead of XFCE as DE for my Ubuntu 14.10. It worked well, but I can't find how I have to connect to it now under XFCE. Is there e.g. a panel plugin like the one in Unity to accomplish this or do I have to use the terminal or other GUI tools?

If you want to do it for all subfolders of a directory, try this: 
find . -type d -maxdepth 1 | while read dir; do cd $dir; make uninstall; cd ../; done
That assumes you have no spaces or weird characters in your directory names.
You could also just do 
for dir in *; do cd $dir; make uninstall; cd ../; done
That will give errors if you have any files (not only directories) but you can ignore them.
Test these by adding an echo before the cd and make commands

@ByteCommander are any of the directories links? Could cd ../ not return you to where you started?

@terdon Sorry, I was afk. I assume that make uninstall does not finish in the same directory as it was started or something like that. I replaced my paths with absolute paths and now it worked.

Good posts that get starred for a reason are getting pushed out by the absurd stars of crap that are newer.
And it's exceptionally annoying

Hence people get upset when one person stars a bunch of random stuff and no one else stars it (meaning it isn't that interesting to others) and then the really interesting stuff gets pushed off.

Maybe give images a higher chance of being sorted out.
I can see why they're hesitant to do anything, as it definitely would put more strain on the system and has the potential for abuse.

@RPiAwesomeness Would it be useful to add another type of star?
I mean keep the "star" for interesting/AU-relevant stuff...
... and create a new one (e.g. "Smiley") for funny stuff.
And give stars a higher relevance in the sidebar than smileys or include a checkbox to filter them.
What do you think? Too complicated?

@ByteCommander The SE folks don't care much about chat. The SE sites are about Q&A, the chat is just a side project. I don't think they'll be willing to implement anything like that.

I think that would be, as everything else is, shot down. It wouldn't be terribly hard to implement though, just basically copy/paste the code for the stars and change the icons a bit.
