Does anyone know what type of formatting does the "Erase Disk" in usb creator use ?
I mean FAT16, FAT 32, or ext*

j0h
3:27 AM
@Suhaib I bet the source code says
Or, maybe the manpage creators know
   This manual page was written by Evan Dandrea <evand@ubuntu.com>, for the Ubuntu project (and may be used by others).
   Updates by Roderick B. Greening <roderick.greening@gmail.com>.

@j0h, Thanks for the help :-)

hi!
I'd installed Ubuntu 13.04 on my laptop. Is there any program to use webcam from laptops?

3:44 AM
@AryoAdhiWibisonoLegopermono Install Cheese

ah, software center saids "Available from the "universe" source". What should I do?

j0h
@Suhaib The function in the usb-creator def format(self, device):
of Backend.py from /usb-creator/usbcreator/backends/udisks/backend.py
seems to me what does the formatting. You could probably figure out the function from there.
@Aryo: Cheese or webcamd. or a virtual webcam with webcam studio. or even vlc can do webcam operations.
@Aryo use the universe source.

@j0h I'll try it

Would you please open my question now askubuntu.com/questions/265753/…
Thanks..

@Qasim suspect you'll need to hack the indicator code to remove the "locale" setting.

i have an answer now ...its very tricky ....
all in english
and local time as well

so you just changed your locale to english?

let me tell you
Select the New You Time , Go to Clock Settings > check " Time in Auto detection location" ....after few minutes you will see the time just before " shutdown , suspend "
click on it
and you will have local time
in english

11:46 AM
and that sticks after a reboot?

no no
let me show you pic
when you click the button
you will see you local time but in english

hello all

@Qasim sound like you found a bug.

I had the problem yesterday installing 13.04 in VirtualBox. I included what I did as an answer to the question
Is that not the problem?

@fossfreedom yes

11:52 AM
@Mitch ? You added an answer that is really a question to an existing question?

@fossfreedom What do you mean

"Is that not the problem?" ... what's the problem?

@fossfreedom give me a minute.

hmmm @Qasim - think @Mitch has just given you a good answer ... does it work for you?

its already english us
let me write my own answer and you will clearly get my point

12:11 PM
@Qasim isn't this the problem?

yes it is .... i cant even read my local language in this formate

@Qasim the way I fixed it, was the same as in my answer. It worked for me.

ok i will write my own answer as well ... view it
ok i will install it VM again ..and check your answer as well and then i will accept it

@Qasim OK. I have to leave now to buy somethings, but I'll be back in about an hour or so.
BBL

okay

12:38 PM
@fossfreedom please check the answer, i hope now you will get my point askubuntu.com/questions/265753/…

And what does that have to do with the language now?
I mean, quite frankly, it makes no sense for that to change anything other than the actual time.

the question is How To Change Date/Time Format to English in Ubuntu 13.04?

Yes, and it makes no sense for what you did to change the language itself as well - unless you set everything to English as well in the process. Which, essentially, is what has been suggested multiple times here.

if you can see its not in aactual formate
y u r getting angry ?
should i delete my question ?

12:55 PM
I'm neither getting angry, nor should you delete your question. I'm just pointing out that both your question and the conversation here in chat were very confusing.

hmmm ok

@Takkat I've placed a commentary below the answer on my question:

"@MrSeed I've tried this tutorial and also downloaded the older version of the UNetbootin, but the problem is that the older version depends on a library that is not available for Ubuntu 13.04 because it's too old, by the way the newest version of the library is available, but the app still doesn't work with it installed."

A: How to create a live usb for Windows in Ubuntu

RasmusThere is a two-click possibility using WinUSB. To install WinUSB, execute the following commands in terminal: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:colingille/freshlight sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install winusb I have tested this in 12.04 and 12.10.

@Ta I've tried it but doesn't boot. For some unknown reason. Then I tried a Cd (to check if the problem was with some block created by some configuration) and it worked. But I need to use a USB stick.

Win8 may be different to Win7 but I do not really know.
