you could always use a world writable FIFO and treat it as a text file, easiest nix solution anyway

mkfifo has saved my bacon more than once with apps that don't accept input from stdin

You can very easily use Python on Windows.

Just add it to your path and you can invoke it from any command window.

I am having a problem with a device I have. It is a "Ion Tape2PC" tape conversion system. It's supposed to be plug and play, it doesn't need drivers to work. I already downloaded and installed the software to convert the tapes to mp3 with wine, but when I connect my device it won't read it or rec...
