I want to get a clear picture of logic. Which books shall I read?
formal logic, intermediate or advanced level
What do you think of Mathematical Logic for Computer Science. by Mordechai Ben-Ari?
either for math or for CS

@Tim Do you have undergraduate mathematics background?

Tim
Don't worry about it

What you should read depends on what you know.

Tim
The book that I mentioned is helping to solve one of my confusions: Hilbert deduction, natural deduction, ... Some books only adopt one way, and leave me confused about the others.
I am also wondering: What is the relation betw computability ( or recursion theory) and logic? Why some logic books have that part, despite the two seem unrelated:
I don't see logic is used in study of recursion or computability
I don't see recursion or computability is used in study of logic
@user21820 please don't worry about what I know

@Tim Eh? Then I'll have to assume you are a beginner, in which case this is the wrong chat-room.

Please assume me whatever
So What is the relation betw computability ( or recursion theory) and logic?

The first step in learning logic is not to attempt to learn a formal treatment of logic.
You must first learn to use a deductive system for FOL. Do you know one?

Tim
Yes, I am learning formal logic
That is what I am asking about

Tim
Yes, I know a little
What is the relation betw computability ( or recursion theory) and logic?
Please straightforward or directly

You're asking questions that are not suitable for your level. I am not obliged to answer you if you do not wish to actually learn logic. You can of course ask someone else, not in this chat-room.

Yes, it is.
Why are you so rigid?

@Tim Your query is the rigid one. I am flexible but I need to know your background knowledge to give proper advice.
I do not just answer yes/no questions like a machine.
