Done with the Sunday night chores..

Our church took off evening service for Father's Day, so i have been chilling.

Listening to music, fixed some minor warnings Unity won't quit reminding me of.

Cause "you need to fix tree shaders you friggin idiot" was getting on my nerves.

Yeah, can't stand those either. I fixed a warning that was spamming at startup in our app. False positive warnings can hide actual issues.

It was preventing the trees on the volcano island in my game from rendering properly.

So like 30 meters or more they would disappear.

Instead of billboard.

Those must be super trees to stand still on a volcano island!

I mean, pretty sure if i went for ultra realism, they would be more of "petrified trees." They are dead in game anyways.

No leaves, hardly any bark. Just a shell.

Makes sense!

And the only town that was there is now buried under ash (there is a quest where ya actually have to go that town to retrieve a sword for someone who used to live therw)

@TheMattbat999 this reminds me of a video I've seen of a volcano exploding and literally blowing the trees away. My youtube-fu is bad so I can't retrieve it...

I actually like the idea of a heat resistant species of tree.

@bruglesco oh, yeah, that too. Totally agree. Children shouldn't be imposed, they're too important and too fragile to not want them bedore having them.

Go over to WorldBuilding.SE and see if they can give you any practical uses for wood made of said trees.

There was that book where there were "tesla trees", where lightning arcs would go from a tree to another during a particulr season..

In Dwarf Fortress, there are nether caps - big underground mushrooms. They have constant temperature. Players use them to build things that work with magma, especially what can be made of wood only.

@AlexandreVaillancourt magma-resistant does not mean super hard.
