Because @Zak floods us with stars their meaning is diluted :p

Occasionally I forget just how odd a culture Japan really is.
Interesting factoid: There's a good anthropological reason for that. Every other inhabited land mass on earth has, at various times, been conquered and occupied by a foreign power, leading to a broad level of species-wide cultural standardisation. As far as we can tell though, Japan has *never* been occupied by a conquering power in the history of the world.
They've never had another culture forced on them at gunpoint (or through genocide etc.). Hence, the Japanese truly are a culture sompletely separate from the rest of humanity.

@holroy that was just me copying comments from a deleted post... right, that's what you're referring to?
OMG I'm 6 points shy of matching Loki's rep score!

You copied comments, which referred to "cyklop", which we could have connected to a post by CaptainObvious earlier on...
@CaptainObvious Possibly this one, but as it don't have any poster information, it's a little hard to tell...

The Japanese liked him so much they were campaigning for him when he ran for Presidential office over here.

@holroy He copied the comments to play text because the post was deleted and most of us wouldn't be able to see them

@Phrancis So my question is if (and how) we could get the poster information into that original post by Captain Obvious

@holroy It is there for me, what do you mean?
Well, their name is, anyways

@Phrancis I didn't know you could hover the icon, and most times I don't remember who the icon represent. So I'm asking/wanting to have it written somewhere... But I can settle for hovering the icon if it's not easy/feasible/wanted to extend into have the name written as well

True, especially cause its programming related ;) I've considered jointing the reddit secret santa. But this is seven ways cooler
even ways* well probably seven ways cooler too.

It's cooler 'cause we're almost always in touch here, but well, it'd be kinda complicated to meet :p So gift exchanging is a great way to bond

agreed.
May I ask how where you guys planning to do the exchange? You make something at home and send that or is the majority going to buy something on amazon.com and send that directly to the person?

@Mat'sMug codereview.stackexchange.com/a/113513/81541 I'm reading through that alternating between "That's a decent point" and "Your problem is you don't understand VBA/good code/English enough to appreciate what's going on". Just wanted to know if that's the same impression you get?

Hello~

Zak
Also, presenting a review as re-writing my code blocks and adding new comments? blergh.
I *wrote* the code and I have to keep tabbing back/forth to figure out what they've changed.

@DJanssens Probably send directly through amazon. I guess it depends who you pick. If you happen to pick someone that lives near your, sending something wouldn't be that bad. But otherwise shipping costs might be a little high
Like, if I pick @Mat'sMug I could grab my car and deliver the gift at home :p

"It looks like it should be a constant". Suuuuure. I'm *totally*going to write const string = "1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th,7th,8th,9th,10th,11th,12th,13th,14th,15th,16th,17th,18t‌h,19th,20th,21st,22nd,23rd,24th,25th,26th,27th,28th,29th,30th,31st" </sarcasm>

@Zak Well, how about an array?

Zak

@TopinFrassi That's how I wrote it originally
Array populated by a function, then string = Join(array,",")

An array with constants!!!! :p
Where's that code?

Q: Custom sorting an Excel Data Table (+ visual formatting)

ZakI'm (re)building a data table to track our clients that receive regular income payments. Specifically, I need to pull this data into other workbooks for other reports, and since I was here anyway I decided to upgrade it and anticipate its' future growth. A sample of the data table (minus sensiti...

Ooh I got a downvote. That hasn't happened in a while.

Lol, that's not me
But well, maybe the const wouldn't be a bad move. It'd be a less-than-fun move, but faster

Zak
@TopinFrassi I'm trying to learn *better* habits. Not fast ones.

@Zak In that case, maybe you should generate the array with a function. Like...

Zak
7:46 PM
@TopinFrassi I know, @IsmaelMiguel pointed it out.
That'll definitely be in V2

for i to n : s = i.ToString(); if i[i.length] == 1, put i+"st", etc etc
etc,etc, the best keyword in my pseudo-code language

"'You might be better off making strColour a constant" - right after explaining *why* I didn't want to assume the colour would always be constant.
You know what, I'm retracting my upvote.
There's some good points in there, but there's also a lot of pretty bad ones.

@Zak do you have a mark-up problem?? :p

Zak
that was the reviewer's comment on my code.
His review is starting to seriously irritate me. I think I'm going to go play some games for a while before I start berating him.
