These mostly seem to be questions to OP. While they are good, they should be written as comments. — sleske 1 min ago

I agree -- unless there's some unusual feature of the route between the grandparents' house and the railway station, there's no such thing as "He doesn't drive safely enough to pick me up, but he can drive at other times." Either he's safe enough to drive, period, or he's not safe enough to drive. — David Richerby 1 min ago

Gawd, it's awkward huh. I had a similar concern in that my new boss was going to take me flying in a helicopter (he's licensed), but after a few months of seeing him operate technical equipment at work and his general state of being I was genuinely scared for my life. Luckily he never mentioned it again. I suspect, although could be completely wrong, that he's actually lost his license since and was probably scared I was going to bring it up myself (!) — Lamar Latrell 1 min ago

@BKlassen Oh... you're right, it carries a misogynistic undertone. If I may explain why I wrote it that way, it is something I have constated from anecdotal evidence. My male friends have no problem talking openly and frankly about feelings. My female friends have all been (except my closest one) using roundabout sentences and implying things even when asking me for input on relationships, social events or anything related to feelings. A woman being the focus of my reasoning, I used "women" instead of "people". I would change "women" to "people" but can't, so perhaps someone else will do it ? — Berthollet 31 secs ago

Would you be ok with finding out he's gay? I do not say he is - I can't tell, but would it be a problem for you? Assuming you are heterosexual (While you say you may be bi) - would it irritate you to know he is interested in your body, while you are not in his? (I see no reason it should irritate) — Volker Siegel 1 min ago

@WoJ might also be a question of the ... social environment...? I personally know only two Americans who have those and no one else, neither in my work nor personal circle uses them, but I'm aware via social media that some people in my country use them^^ So at least I wouldn't assume everyone gets it nor is convinced by it even if they know it. But it's a good advice IF they'd be followers of that ...err behaviour...culture... thing. I'd just recommend to give some context. — Frank Hopkins 17 secs ago
