12:08 AM
@JackBNimble I've watched a few programs about hoarders, it's really sad when they discover what personal tragedy caused the hoarding
But then uplifting when they overcome it

2 hours later…
1:56 AM
@Pureferret to be fair, we sort of got callisto and the morlocks in the last stand, and look how that turned out.
@Keen it's the villains/nemesis of 'josie and the pussycats'

12 hours later…
2:12 PM
@phantom42 Those filthy Morlocks, they are like, even worse than a mutant.
Anyways, the mutant locating mutant has already been done, in X-Men 3.

@JackBNimble ...you mean X-men 1. He's called 'Professor X'.

@Keen I mean the girl that Magneto uses to find Mystique.
But I suppose Professor X and Cerebro count too.
Before Wolverine traveled back in time in his own mind and convinced Prof. X to start using his powers again, what was the origin event that convinced Prof. X to stop juicing and regain his telepathy?

@JackBNimble No, he would have stopped eventually.

@Keen Why, he seemed to hate his power and love the ability to walk.
And he loved that juice he was taking.

@JackBNimble Sure, but Caliban has another prominent role in the books, as one of the Horsemen.

2:27 PM
@JackBNimble Well, in X-men 1, he wasn't walking around, without telepathic powers, so...

Something must cause him to get off the smack though.

does he know how to make it himself?
maybe hank finally gets sick of watching it and leaves

Maybe Xavier runs out of money and can no longer pay his dealer, AKA Hank McCoy.

2:46 PM
Well, Batman's in Suicide Squad.

What happened to his cape, I wonder.

I thought this was already confirmed a few weeks ago with affleck filming on set. The assumption back then was that it was a flashback scene

@phantom42 I missed confirmation of him on set. I'd heard rumors.
But we're getting pictures and video of stuff now that's confirming all manner of stuff.

That is one of the cars he was chasing with the Batmobile from the video yesterday (or the day before). So maybe he decided to ditch the Batmobile and jump on that sports car?

3:04 PM
I'm pretty sure that it's the Joker's car. At the very least, I recall Harley being seen around the car.

3:58 PM
@Keen do you use the Marvel Unlimited app on a tablet?

@MichaelEdenfield Yup, Ipad Air 2.

is the library navigation flaky for you?
like, sometimes my entire library doesn't show up unless I refresh a few times.
and sometimes when i get to the end of an issue it lets me jump right to the next one, and other times it doesn't, and sometimes it lets me disable 'read-offline' at the end of an issue and other times is doesn't work.
i'm trying to determine if it's my wifi network being flaky or if the app just has glitches

@MichaelEdenfield My main issue was that it would fail to download an issue I was reading. So I'd get like 3 pages in, then it would spit out errors. Had to add to the offline reading group to get it to download the rest. My library always loaded without issue, but I kept it really small, just the handful of things I was reading at the time.

yeah, I've had cases where I turned on offline reading and it didn't actually cache.
it just pops up a 'download' button on the issue. but i think that probably was my network

@MichaelEdenfield I had that happen sometimes, usually it would immediately start the download.

4:10 PM
my library isn't big, but I have the entire Infinity storyline in there right now.
I will say, I'm a bit turned off by the number of ungodly-powerful Avengers in the recent Avengers.
especially this Captain Universe person?

I've had a few issues that I'd hit "download" and it just wouldn't. Sometimes it would cause a crash. Other times, it'd just not work. I'd have to just read those ones online. Annoying since I was downloading so I could read them on the train.

4:50 PM
Weird that they're still being secretive about Jay Jackson's role. And playing coy on the other half of Firestorm.

maybe they haven't cast him yet?
maybe they never show his face!
maybe it's ra's al ghul!

@MichaelEdenfield ...watch the video, he's right there.

hrm. 7 shows? Gotham, Arrow, Flash, Legends, Supergirl, iZombie, ????

Maybe Constantine? I dunno.

I'm pretty sure Constantine is dead...

4:57 PM
Maybe he'll get better!

oh right.
Lucifer
forgot about that one.

ah

I watched the video, they never really show Firestorm's face. It's all Ghost-Ridery.
ahaha i'm watching this post-Arrow interview with Willa Holland where someone asks her "Does that make you Heir to the Demon" and she's like "WOAH!"

lol
Actually, she was the next in line as soon as Ollie killed Rah's. Ollie became Rah's at that point, and she'd be next up in succession.
Since Ollie's kid isn't highborn.

but is it really automatic?
they called Nyssa Heir to the Demon for multiple seasons, but Ra's history lesson to Oliver seemed to imply that it never worked that way.

5:12 PM
@MichaelEdenfield Ra's seemed to be trying to alter the League's rules. He was taking quite a few steps to ensure that Nyssa would end up in power.
Maybe 'alter's too strong a word, but he was bending them like crazy.

but he knew the prophecy said who the next Ra's would be.. did he think he would have to try to kill her at some point?
> Interviewer: So, where exactly is Nanda Parbat?
> Willa Holland: It's right outside Starling City, on the way to Central City, obviously.

@MichaelEdenfield Maybe? I mean, at the start of the show, she's the Heir. Once once Ollie shows up and fulfills the prophecy does he then figure out a way to keep her in play by marrying her off.

I want to say there were other things he did to ensure she'd still be a League asset other than that, but the season was getting real tedious, so I wasn't paying much attention.

5:28 PM
I wasn't really clear on what his plan for her post-Oliver was. It sounded like he was just sending her off to have little baby demons :\
... those two are legally married now, right?

@MichaelEdenfield Yup.
Well, in Nanda Parbat. I dunno if they have a treaty with the US to recognize each other's marriages.

according to Willa, NanaParbat's in Indiana. so probably.

1 hour later…
6:43 PM
now I really wish I could edit my own blog posts after publishing.
Why can't I do that?

@MichaelEdenfield What do you need to change?
Probably so you can't change it to something that hasn't been approved.

One of the things I complained about on Supergirl was how they "never said" Superman or Kal-el, but @Richard correctly pointed out they did.
it doesn't really change my point but I did make a factually incorrect statement.
gimme a second I will have an edit to make

should just put it into an approval queue, just like edits on the site

yah, that would be nice, though I'm pretty sure the blog software is low on the SE priority list :)
now that I'm specifically paying attention it's almost amusing how hard they try not to say Superman, tho. Jimmy Olson literally cuts Kat Grant off as she's about to say it and substitutes "my friend in blue"
also, I'm wondering what made that Hank dude think it would be in any way a smart idea to piss off Superman's cousin and fellow super-powered Kryptonian by abducting her.

7:19 PM
@JackBNimble Paragraph just before before Conclusion, starting with "The fact that they don't ever..."
> The fact that they try so hard to avoid naming him makes it even worse. During the opening exposition scene, they identify him as Kal-El and Superman but after that, we only get one occurance of "Man of Steel". Instead, Kara would frequently talk about “him” in a way that we’re supposed to know who she’s talking about.

@MichaelEdenfield Done

Also, can you edit some sense into the commenters?

@MichaelEdenfield nonsense commenters? Welcome to the internet...

7:36 PM
I'd take criticizers of Supergirl more seriously if they added the word 'woman' to their vocabulary.

Sometimes when reviewing the spam comments on the blog I consider allowing them.
Wow, amazing web log layout! Howw lоng haνe yoս beеn blogging foг? yοu made blogging looқ comfortable. The oveгall loоk оf your site is fantastic, lеt unequaled the substance!
"let unequaled the substance" is praise I can't walk away from.

I just noticed Kara says "Kryptonese writing"
should that be "Kryptonian"?
or if you're tolkein, "Kryptish"?

@MichaelEdenfield cough

or I could just google.
UGH.
the original Kryptonese was an actual foreign language - 116 symbol alphabet.
the new one sounds like it's just a substitution cipher.
I hate when alien languages are just English with different letters.
Human languages are rarely English with different letters.

116 symbols?! Way to go the distance, old timey comic book writers.

7:52 PM
it's structured more like Japanese kanji. 118 characters representing syllables. which actually makes a lot more sense for any spoken language.
but alas:
> One of the many things removed from continuity by Johnny Bryne's Man of Steel reboot was Kryptonese. In its place came Kryptonian, which was a 26 letter alphabet that simply corresponded with the English alphabet.
so, either Supergirl is following the pre-Man of Steel continuity, or this is a plot hole

@MichaelEdenfield ...you mean katakana or hiragana. Kanji can have different sounds depending on the characters around it.

yeah, I meant kana

2 hours later…
9:31 PM
so, first lesson Kara needs to learn about superheroing: if you can fly and the other guy can't, do not stand on the ground and trade punches.

9:57 PM
First lesson Kryptonians need to learn. Hit them with heat vision from 5 miles above them.
What is the maximum range of heat vision?

about 6 panels. give or take
and of course, once Barry learned how to land a punch at Mach 2, why did he ever do anything else?
it doesn't matter what their weird power is, "run in at the speed of sound and beat them unconscious" is gonna trump it.

something something murder is bad.

Those sonic booms have got to be hard on any and all windows in Central City.

10:13 PM
I think he blew out an entire street that one time.

Yeah, in the first episode or whatever.
Which is surprising, because he wasn't near mach 1.
I mean, the first half of the season he was going less than 200 miles an hour.
Which makes you wonder, how he was able to make time seem to stop...
