A newspaper in Daredevil states that hundreds of people died in the Battle of New York. However, Captain America: Civil War states that "only" 74 people died. Civil War is presumably higher canon, but is there any Word of God on this discrepancy?

@AnkitSharma I'm definitely going to see it, but I'm not at all excited for it. X-Men: Days of Future Past killed a lot of my enthusiasm for the franchise.

To me Days of Future Past fixed things for me

It made new Deadpool canon and old non-canon

It removed shitty films from canon

But X-1 and X-2 is also not much canon either

And still chance to see good phoenix story

I just wish that X-Men: First Class had have been used as a totally new universe, free from any of the baggage that has all been added in since.

Well at least that makes sense. It still doesn't explain many other things, like the alternative explanation for Charles' paralysis in the original timeline, or Mystique knowing all these people in the past in the original timeline.

It's just horribly messy, is my point, and not just the "deliberate ripples"

by stopping trask, the horrible future is prevented

@AnkitSharma eh.. beast changes a lot through the comics. that isn't something i care about.

the problem with timelines imo is that how are you supposed to have a 20 year old cyclopes in the 70s and a 20 year old cylcops in 2016, your comics keep relative age for 40-50 years so to do a movie to follow old arcs you have to take liberties with ages. i like that marvel just said, lets stick all of our people in the current era, and so there time lines stay neat-ish, but xmen wanted to do an origan story, when theyalready had done a previous trilogy to "late" for the origin ages to match,

and honestly other then keeping hugh jackman it wouldnt have been a big deal, but because they like him as wolvarine so much hes kinda the kink in your plots instead of a full reboot, you kept someone that connects your 2 series

its really just that last scene from days of future past, with the cast from the first trilogy that real ruins your ages

they could have ignored x1-3, and just "recast" picard and gandalf as charles and magneto and not worry about that original ages of cyclopes and jean grey

You only need 40% as much food to produce a gallon of milk from a goat as you do from a cow.
