We're down to 4.3 questions/day :(

8 hours later…
9:49 AM
@Moderators: Please do something against this little kiddie. He provides crappy answers and edits post to use more "butts". Kinda annoying -.-

2 hours later…
11:30 AM
@Alex Looks like @J.Musser got the posts. I just killed the user.

@Mooseman Great, Thank You! How is your first day as moderator going? Any differences? :P

@Alex We've been able to delete some old garbage and I've approved a few tag synonyms. Other than that all is the same :)

12:41 PM
@bjb568 Why u no visit lifehacks more?

1 hour later…
1:41 PM
@Mooseman Alright, sweet. :) You were very active before, so I guess there's not more effort than before, is there?

2:15 PM
yo guys, short question (not sure if I should post in meta): Is it OK to add a method to my existing answer, that others have already mentioned? So my answer becomes the ultimate answer, which can be accepted by the asker?

2:27 PM
@Mooseman meh
@Alex If you're copying their stuff, you must attribute them.

@Alex As @bjb568 said, attribution is required. Note also, from the manifesto:
> AND ONE ANSWER PER POST! We cannot properly vet an answer that contain a list of solutions. There are times that a comprehensive answer might cover more than one variation, but if you see a post that is just a brain-dump of unrelated answers, please comment and get it edited down to one answer per post. Answers should be comprehensive, but one solution per post please!

@bjb568 I, of course, would do that, if I copy the exact answer. I'm wondering, from the asker perspective, if it's easier for the asker to accept an answer
@Mooseman thanks for pointing that out, but what would the asker accept if there are three answers that all perfectly solve the problem? Seems like a paradox to me

@Alex There's no need to post duplicate answers. Upvote current answers instead.

@Alex I agree with Mooseman. The only time should post multiple answers on the same question is if there could be slight variations to the problem
Like here

2:45 PM
@michaelpri Alrighty, that makes it clearer... only problem variations needs multiple answers - makes sense
@Mooseman But that means, that the accepted answer not always provides the (ultimate / only) hack that solves the problem

@Alex That's true. The accepted answer is just the one that works best for the OP.

Well, thinking about it, this works the same way on SO, for example. Tons of ways to solve a coding problem and the accepted answer not always is the easiest or best one

Exactly.

Alright, thanks anyways. :) But to be specific. I kind of answered with two different methods here. Should I split it up?

3:52 PM
@Mooseman k cool, I was late for work
@Alex More than one possible answer is common, and happens on many sites, not just LH. If there are several possible solutions added as different answers, people will vote up the one(s) they like best, and that's how they will get sorted.
The OP can accept the one he thinks will be most applicable to the situation, or just the one the community likes best, if he can't choose for himself. And no one is obligated to accept the answers.
If someone posted a method that you would otherwise have posted, vote it up. If you have two or more differing methods, but they each answer the question, treat them each as a separate answer, and post them as such. But be sure that they are separate in that case. If one method is simply a modification of another method (that you posted as answer), simply include it in that answer, rather than on its own.

4:59 PM
@Shokhet You aren't in second place anymore, vote-wise. :P

5:11 PM
@J.Musser Thanks for clarifying even more. Where you draw the line, where something is simply a modification or another method, depends on the specific problem, I guess. Anyways, I will leave my answer(s), that I linked before, in one post. I think it's a modification (instead of aluminum foil, conductive foam with a wire).

@Alex sounds good.

6:06 PM
@michaelpri Do you think you'll get your fanatic badge, or I'll get my electorate badge first? ;P

@J.Musser It's gonna be close. I'm not sure if we'll get enough questions in the next 5 days

6:27 PM
@michaelpri :P
true
And @Mooseman can try for copy editor

@J.Musser :D 28 to go

@Mooseman 6 per day and you'll get it before @michaelpri gets his fanatic.

@J.Musser oooo

I have to vote up 25 questions, and I get electorate.
:P

Wow 95 days consecutive well done @michaelpri

6:31 PM
I have 8 consec... :/
302 consec over on GL

6:43 PM
I'm almost to 200 on SO :)
But if you look back, I'm at ~490/500. Just missed an occasional day.

Its pretty easy to go on every day.

@michaelpri yeah, but I have 140 accounts, so not as easy for me to cover them all. Sometimes I forget
I usually don't try to load them all.
Hiya @JeannePindar

7:05 PM
@J.Musser I only have 4 accounts that I go on everyday

@michaelpri I only have three active. 85 for flagging.

@Mooseman I don't usually flag on the sites I'm not active on

@michaelpri You would if you hung out in the tavern. ;)

@Mooseman Maybe I will

7:27 PM
@michaelpri Yeah, I hang in the tavern 24/7, and in the Low Quality Posts HQ, to flag junk all the time. Thus the 140 accounts.

@Mooseman yeah

8:07 PM
@J.Musser Would you have handled it differently?

@Mooseman huh? Does it matter? :P

@J.Musser I'm still learning; you've been a mod elsewhere for some time now and you understand how lifehacks works.

@Mooseman nope; this is my first time.
@Mooseman I think what you did was good.

:)
@J.Musser Oh. I thought you were a mod on GL. nvm then.

@Mooseman I act like one there, but no. :P
@Mooseman funny - I've been told that a few times by others. Maybe I should be less mod-like over there.

8:15 PM
@J.Musser Didn't someone just ask if you were a mod on the tavern?

@michaelpri Yup. That was Jason.
I wonder why everyone thinks that.

That's what I thought
