The numbers of up- and down-votes can be checked in site analytics and several users have created queries for some other stats, see here or here. If you search a bit, you will probably find a few more similar posts. For example, you might have a look at questions tagged statistics+voting and similar reasonable combinations of tags. — Martin Sleziak 53 mins ago
@MartinSleziak Is there any statistic concerning the "spread" of upvotes? — Aloizio Macedo 36 mins ago
I am not sure what you mean by spread. But probably a natural thing to do would be to look at other posts about voting stats (there is at least 10 posts here on meta concerned with various stats about upvotes and downvotes, see my previous comment) to see whether some of them contains the information you are interested in. — Martin Sleziak 31 mins ago
By spread I mean the fact that a question may have 40 upvotes while 20 other questions may have 0. I saw your links, and only this, this, this and this questions touch the issue I mention, with only the latter directly so. — Aloizio Macedo 25 mins ago
Furthermore, all those links seem outdated. — Aloizio Macedo 24 mins ago
Re: Outdated links. Several of the questions you mention describe the stats at the time of the post, but the SEDE query which was used the get the stats is also linked there. So you can get more recent stats simply by running those queries with the parameters of your choice. (Although you will not see upvotes and downvotes on the site analytics page, since it is shown only to 25K+ users.) — Martin Sleziak 19 mins ago
Re: Spread. This answer contains a query calculating average score (for posts posted on the same day). It seems that you want something similar with median instead of average. I do not know SQL well-enough to know how difficult is to modify it like that. — Martin Sleziak 19 mins ago
@MartinSleziak Yes, I mean median. Thank you. I've used some of the queries, but they all seem to point to average. And to be honest, I don't know how to correctly interpret the data. PS: This last query you linked show a heavy downwards spike on September. Is that anything special, or am I missing something? — Aloizio Macedo 6 mins ago
I guess that the different behavior in the past month might be caused by the fact, that many older heavily downvoted posts get deleted and do not appear in the stats. (A minor factor might also be that recent posts had shorter time to gain upvotes.) This was also discussed in the previous post. BTW if you wish to clean-up these comments a bit, feel free to ping me in chat. — Martin Sleziak 6 secs ago
@AloizioMacedo We have created quite a long comment exchange. If you feel that some of them are not needed (or if you decide to incorporate some of the information given there into your post), you can simply let me know and I will delete the comments which are no longer needed.
Of course, the other possibility is simply to flag the comments which are no longer needed as obsolete. The decision whether the comment will then be deleted is then up to the moderator.
And there is also the third option - we can simply leave those comment the way they currently are.
(It was just my impression that the comment thread starts to grow too long.)
