I heard that GLEW was not though/optimized to be used with Modern(core) Opengl, and that you should switch to something like GLAD or GL3W

some also say GLEW has lots of bugs, and it also tends to load legacy Opengl stuff

Then you really don't want to mess with OpenGL. Use a proper graphics library.

@ConnorRobinson No, seriously, OpenGL is difficult and if you want to use raw OpenGL you will most likely give up before starting on the game and in the best case you will make a shitty game because 90% of the effort went into OpenGL and there was not much time left for the game. Use a game engine or at least a proper graphics engine instead.

Okay i got it, but I'm also trying to understand how a game engine works

in the Opengl 3 example, gl3w is used

I think gl3w is the best option

Glew loads basically the whole Opengl spec, while gl3w loads just the core stuff
