Hey @Glen_b, responding here, as it is not directly relevant to the content of your post, but rather my proposed edit: firstly sorry for any inconvenience. The main edit was to make the expressions in display mode. That rendered properly both in my desktop as well as my phone. The minor edit was to replace \text with \operatorname, the latter was never going to be a stand alone edit any ways. Did I remove "since"? Afair, I didn't.
But it's your post. If you feel, it hampers the clarity, no need to comment on that but I appreciate you did so for making me aware about your concern.
