Not posting as an answer since I don't have anything to back me up, but I really think this was a showcase of humanity's inexplicable weakness compared to the aliens. As Morgan Freeman set the tone early, my admittedly grim take is the aliens were indifferent to humans' reactions, like a scientist exterminating bacteria they no longer need in a lab, or exterminating vermin with insecticide. The horn stood as a "guys, I just started cleansing this area" signal for them. Yes, I found it genuinely scary in the cinema. The bottom-up view through the eyes of some average rando achieved exactly what it should.

I wouldn't classify it as "horror" really. But maybe that's why I found it so good how scary it actually was.

We have a French press at work. And recently our boss bought a different brand of coffee and it makes a huge difference. Like, I already knew that's about the best brand of ground coffee available, but I was surprised how big the difference is. When he's back from vacation we have to have a serious talk on the company's coffee buying strategy. ;-)

Q: Why was muru's account suspended?

muru is one of the best users here, like Braiam and many other good folks. Out of curiosity, may I know why his account is suspended? He is a good guy. I just found out about his suspension by seeing he only has 1 reputation. I can't imagine what a veteran and nice man like him could do to deserv...
