Q: (Major Spoilers) Who exactly is Hippolyta?

ShaliniIn the movie WonderWoman we see that Hippolyta is mother of WonderWoman. Also, at the final fight scene between WonderWoman and Ares, she says something on the lines of "Goodbye brother". So i figured since WonderWoman is the daughter of Zeus that would make her a sibling of Ares. However, while ...

Ankit SharmaWonder Woman in comics associated with World War II not World War I but in 2017's film Wonder Woman, it's set during World War I. What was the reason for this drastic change, is it to avoid similarity form Captain America: The First Avenger or there any other reason for it?

If they wanted it to not look like Captain America: The First Avenger, why was it about a super-soldier with a bulletproof shield who ends up a member of a superhero team in the modern age, infiltrating a German facility to take down an evil scientist backed by (supposedly) the power of the Gods? And why in the world did the climax feature an American soldier named Steve who sacrifices himself aboard a German bomber plane in order to prevent a horrible new bomb from being deployed?!? Nope. Doesn't sound the least bit like Captain America: The First Avenger. No sir. — Mason Wheeler 3 mins ago

Q: How does Avengers merchandising work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Steven VascellaroIn Season 1 Episode 10 of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Mike Peterson mentions to Skye that he bought his son "Heroes of New York" action figures for his birthday. Skye: Is that Ace? What a cutie. He must be so proud of you, his dad working for S.H.I.E.L.D... Which he can't know with eve...

@NapoleonWilson Could I do a challenge suggestion for a makeup artist?
I watched American Werewolf last night and I'm still amazed and frightened by it and I wanted to do a ToW for Rick Baker. He has a huge list of movies that he has worked on. Anyways, I thought that it might be something different :)
He also won the very first Oscar for makeup for that movie. Just a bit of trivia ;)
Okay...Nevermind, then :P

Q: I am looking for the title of this horror movie I think that the movie is not later than 2005

Imane BelghiteI can remember : -A haunted house of a family -It was a bunch of guys who went to that house -they saw a demon on the window, and one of them was afraid he started by turning back then a car smashed him ps: the name was like (the house of willie or william ) idk

@MovieReel to Internet Generation - unless you're writing on paper with pens you have no use for PS:. PS: was used back when you couldn't go back and add stuff to a document as such putting PS: at the end of a document which allow you to edit any part of it just shows that you're lazy and don't bother checking your work

I have occasionally used "PS" on the internet to indicate an afterthought or brief tangent that serves little purpose in the main body of my post, but even that only makes sense in the rare case where I have a post with enough effort put into its structure and flow that I actually care about culling irrelevant bits and narrowing focus and so on, and I have so much to say on the subject that I have an afterthought left over that "didn't really fit anywhere" but is still worth saying.

@Memor-X I disagree. I think that the PS is for fun now. It's like an aside... you don't want to interrupt the flow of your content but you have other information to add.

the post you're pointing at is certainly a case where the usage of "ps" doesn't really make any sense and almost appears to be using it as an alternative to a period or a comma for some reason

They mean "also".

@Ixrec in similar cases i run into i generally use like NOTE: or a subscript at the end

I may also use N.B. if I'm feeling sufficiently posh to throw in random Latin
NOTE: seems like something I'd only use in code comments but I guess that works too

@Catija maybe i'm just too critical of my own writing that if i have any afterthought i want to include i review the entire thing and see where they should go and generally when i see PS used on the internet it's normally just adding something that could have went in the main body
@Ixrec well i come from a programming background so maybe that's where i picked it up

A: Weekly Topic Challenge - Ideas

steelersquirrelMake-up artist RICK BAKER WEEK We usually have challenges honoring actors, directors or a specific film genre. So, I am proposing a challenge to honor well renowned make-up artist, Rick Baker. Rick Baker has worked on a multitude of films during his long career. He was also the recipient of ...

@Memor-X ... It's Stack Exchange, not a paper you're submitting for peer review. It's OK to be less than perfectly formal.

@Catija it's not just SE that i see this in

... So, first you hold me to "but that post isn't using it that way" and now you're saying "but it's not just SE"... I'm sorry but I can't keep arguing two different things. Either we're talking about general usage or we are not.

@Catija oh sorry, i was talking about general usage on the internet or digital media. you generally have the time to re-read what you have written and edit in after thoughts which wasn't the option back when you write everything by hand
i just replied to the post to show that it's not just some random thought

@Memor-X That's fine... but your comment above says very clearly "that post doesn't apply to what you're saying".

I'm just talking about generally, too... but apparently I can't say things that don't apply to that specific post without you invalidating them.

@Memor-X Hmmm. Sorry.
@Ixrec you're wrong. Go away :P

@Catija ha, ha, ha, ha, don't worry it's fine. i make the same mistake sometimes myself

Clearly it's time for me to go home.
Toodles!

@Catija laters

I have no idea what just happened but cya
