BREAKING NEWS: Kurt Russell just announced that it was actually him who starred in The Sixth Sense. It was not Bruce Willis. Bruce Willis has confirmed that Kurt Russell went through facial reconstruction in order to pull this off. All of Hollywood is shocked and stunned! Therefore, all questions about The Sixth Sense should therefore be included in the ToW Challenge...just sayin' ;)

Uh, let me guess, that hair thing got HNQ?

Pfft! I don't even know if it got HNQ... I just heard this news and decided to share it with everyone :P

@user22792 But that makes the whole twist at the end completely pointless.

Hahaha! See. It's turning Hollywood upside down! This is mass hysteria!!!!

@user22792 No, actually I only listened to the soundtrack (which is awesome) and it reminded me of that great scene. But it's true, it is a great film.
I'm actually watching Pain & Gain, but not too conciously.

OMG! I love that movie! Even though it has Mark Wahlberg in it. That movie is frigging hilarious on what complete idiots those guys are.

When watching it the first time, I didn't entirely know what to think about it, I admit.

Well...it's a dark comedy that's based on a true story. Yes, these crimes actually happened. Yes, these guys were actually that stupid.

12:39 AM
Yeah, I read that the most stupid and made-up crap in that film is actually the true parts.

@DrRDizzle hello o/

Have you guys ever heard the phrase/idea that "A hero is only as good as their villain"?
Mornin' @AnkitSharma

@DrRDizzle yes, that's why Batman is best :P

@AnkitSharma OK, cool. I wanted to make sure that it's a well known phrase before I write an article about how wrong it is.

phrase is not wrong but there are exceptions like winter soldier

A J
@DrRDizzle Admit it or not, you've got @AnkitSharma's influence. :P

8:49 AM
@AJ In what sense :O O.o

That's the thing, I think the phrase is wrong. There are too many examples of films that really work even with a bad villain and films that don't work at all even with a great villain.

Huh?

A J
write != right

@DrRDizzle saying wrong is bit generalizing

8:50 AM
@AnkitSharma Well, so is saying the phrase in the first place.

Majority cases seems in favour of it
@AJ lol

I don't think so. What makes a good villain, in your opinion?
@AJ Ah, lol

A J
:D

@DrRDizzle great villain is the one I can relate with or can enjoy him.
Villain end goals are important but not always

@AnkitSharma Most people usually say something along the lines of "they have to be someone with understandable motives, and they need to be the hero in their own mind". Is that fair?

8:56 AM
Good villains: Joker (Dark knight), Loki (MCU), kilgrave (JJ) etc
@DrRDizzle nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
kilgrave was not even hero in his own eyes, he was plain chaos bringer
So did joker
Even motiveless villain can work well too if executed perfectly

No, Kilgrave definitely thought he was in the right. He was an entitled, privileged brat, but he also thought he was right to be doing what he was doing.

A J
@AnkitSharma JJ?

@DrRDizzle he never really judged his own steps at all. You can say he had some psycho love JJ end goal but not a understandable motive
@AJ Jessica Jones
But I enjoyed him and that's enough

@AnkitSharma His motive was getting Jessica Jones back, however he could. And he thought that was the right thing to do because the only thing he cared about was his own sense of self-satisfaction and nothing more, a problem caused by the fact that no one was ever able to tell him "no".

@DrRDizzle but he never judged himself on any morality ground
He was just like a crazy spoiled kid who want what he want at any cost

9:03 AM
That's what I'm saying. His complete lack of moral sensibilities meant that the only knowledge of "right and wrong" he had was based on whether or not he wanted it. In his mind, everything he did was "right" because he doesn't have any understanding of what that actually is.

"In his mind, everything he did was "right"", we don't really know how true it is
Maybe his thinking is similar to joker
Joker know what he is doing is crazy and wrong but he do that for fun
SO kilgrave can also know he is doing wrong but don't really care at all

The Joker doesn't work as a character in the traditional sense though, he literally only works as the antithesis of Batman in The Dark Knight. I'd argue that Kilgrave is a distinct character, with a psychological reality that makes sense for who he is and his purpose in the story.

Joker do work as a character. I don't really got your point

He doesn't though. His motives are unclear, his personality is erratic and poorly defined, and we don't know anything about him beyond "he's The Joker". The reason he works in the film is because of the challenge that he poses to Batman, not because he's an interesting character in his own right. The Joker is a poor character, but he's a great antagonist.

Fully disagree
Maybe you are not familiar with joker out of dark knight trilogy
And for god sake let's just assume suicide squad joker didn't exists

9:11 AM
I'm talking about the way The Joker works specifically in that one film, for the record, not whether or not he works as a character in other canon.
I'm just talking about The Dark Knight

He worked very well as a character in film too
things are not always black and white and joker exists beyond those boundaries

I disagree, because he's not really a character in the way that the usually think of characters. As I said, he has no motivation, no backstory, nothing that allows us to empathize with him or feel like we know him. He's an enigma, and that works because of the way he challenges Batman at a much more interesting level than just fisticuffs.

He is not that lame villain who want to rule the world or destroy earths because of bad childhood
@DrRDizzle that is what made him interesting character in his ownself. He made batman more interesting rather then what you proposing
And who need backstory when the character can be fun without it
I can list many villains who had good backstory and maotives but still look lame and dumb

@AnkitSharma No, that's what I'm saying. He works not as an individual character, but as a reflection of Batman. He's a "character" in that he's a person in the film, but he's not a character in the sense of someone with a definable set of goals, something that drives them, a personality, wants and needs.

@DrRDizzle then you work in black and white zone only
I don't understand the nessasity of motives all the time
And most of the motives are always dumb

9:18 AM
He's not a three-dimensional character, is what I'm getting at. He only exists as a foil to Batman - he's as one-dimensional as they come, but he works because of how well The Dark Knight positions him as the antithesis of everything Batman stands for, and how well he challenges Batman not just physically, but thematically too.

A J
It seems @DrRDizzle will discuss things with us and include the conclusion in his article.

@AJ I hope he don't mention me in article. I don't want death threats 😂😂😂😂😂

I actually do find discussing these kind of things with you guys really, really useful.
2

@DrRDizzle he is plain crazy and interesting character. His goals are to bring chaos for fun. His justification for his action is fun too
I don't really like forced 3 dimensional character when they don't even make sense in general
Like the brother sister from iron fist, they don't even make sense in first half of story and very less in second half

I'm still only on episode 6.

9:23 AM
Luckily I didn't spoiled anything yet
I finished episode 10 last night

A J
I always wonder how much stuff you guys get to/do watch.

Without spoiling anything , both brother sister were so lame and there goals were so blur
They are forced multi dimensional character who didn't worked for me
@AJ I don't heve personal life 😜

That's a problem with the way these characters are written, not the fact that they are three-dimensional.

A J
I forgot to mention the ending of Dr. Strange was quite interesting.

@DrRDizzle I blame acting too

9:27 AM
"Dormammu, I've come to bargain".
3

@DrRDizzle I liked that part, even when I didn't enjoyed most of the film

My favourite scene was the one shared between Doctor Strange and the Ancient One when she knows she's about to die and she slows down time and they just stand in the snow and talk. Wonderful acting from both of them, beautiful cinematography, and great writing.

A J
@AnkitSharma Doesn't Dormammu sound like South Indian villain?

@AJ really O.o
@DrRDizzle just official anouce Tilda swan as best and get back to crtitissing that film 😜😜😜😜

She's so good!

9:32 AM
She was good in Constantine too even when I had issue with that film

She's good in everything. Have you seen Snowpiercer?

A J
@DrRDizzle It was nice too.

@DrRDizzle no

@AnkitSharma She's completely unrecognisable in that, and she's still great.

Megiddo is known for its historical, geographical, and theological importance, especially under its Greek name Armageddon. During the Bronze Age, Megiddo was an important Canaanite city-state and during the Iron Age, a royal city in the Kingdom of Israel. Excavations have unearthed 26 layers of ruins, indicating a long period of settlement. Megiddo is ...
