Ed AvisUser-defined functions I create user-defined functions, e.g. create function dbo.udf_LeastInt(@a int, @b int) returns int with schemabinding as begin return case when @a <= @b then @a when @b < @a then @b else null end end sql_variant You can also make on...

I’m stuck in traffic going to the airport
Can anyone spare a cigarette
16:48
Thank you
If you're in NYC traffic then you'll need a pack
Good thinking
I used to have entire conversations on the phone with people for the drive from the airport to the hilton by Trinity in downtown manhattan
Took an hour or more sometimes
if you fly into Newark the helicopter into midtown is only like $50 more than a cab
probably not the best place to hold a conference call though
on the other hand the bus is like $10 and takes the same amount of time as the taxi
takes all kinds i suppose

The drive from me to Newark is a lot better than to LGA, but the flight schedules aren’t always as good

@ErikDarling I got burned by that on a SQL Server 2014 instance a little while back.
Or maybe it was 2012.
It was real old.
The EF team is sort of backing off of that JSON thing.

> In 8.0, we changed the default translation for parameterized lists from constantization to parameterization (e.g. with OPENJSON); this is better for plan/query caching (single SQL), but can produce bad query plans (#32394). For 9, we're adding extensive means to control the parameterization vs. constantization behavior, both at the global context options level (#34344) and at the per-collection level (EF.Constant, EF.Parameter (#34345)).

For 10, we plan to reexamine what the default should be. The problem with the current full parameterization, is that the bad plans it occasionally cause
