Hi everyone. I'd like to request some help from the mods in order to clarify some issues regarding my stackexchange.com (SE) log in settings.
Some time ago I lost access to the email account which is part of the credentials that I use to enter SE, so I want to update my email address via my Edit Email Settings section in order to prevent losing access to SE...
...but I'm worried that if I do so, SE is going to start some sort of identity automatic verification process, let's say SE will send a verification code to the email address to which I no longer have access and therefore I might lose access to the SE platform. So should I proceed changing the email address datum? Is there any risk in this regard?

@MDCCL I just tried it and it did send the verification email to the new address. Nothing on the old address.
so you're probably safe.
don't blame me if it's not though

@mustaccio Thanks for going through the address change process... I was hesitant but I'm going to give it a try right right now...
I hope nothing goes wrong
@mustaccio Yes the verification email was sent to the new address indeed and I got my log in credentials succesfully updated. Thanks for the help.

My issue now is that I have to use the same old address (and the password) in order to log in to SE, I expected that changing the email address would change the log in credentials too, but that was not the case
I wish to add a new login with the email address recently added

11:32 PM
....
Turns out I had to enter the new email address and a password in the Add Login Credential section in order to enable the new address as a login alternative... I thought the only options were Facebook and/or Google and that you have to enter the email address and the password in order to verify that you wanted to add the new login.
Well I finally have my new credentials now. :)

@MDCCL awesome to hear you got that sorted out! Welcome back btw, it's been a while since you were in Chat.
