@bbaird I agree, sometimes that is all you need, maybe just add some different indexes, and different queries. But I've also wished I had a separate simpler dimensional models of some parts of my old OLTP systems back then that had very complicated entity models to make some of those queries a lot easier and a lot faster.

@Vérace So my guess is the answer lies in figuring out for a collection of a certain size and a certain number of elements, how many permutations satisfy the n <= n+1 element requirement.

Permutation isn't the right word, that has a specific meaning in combinatorics.

When I lived next to a slow-moving creek, I actually never got bit by mosquitoes since we had a fairly large bat colony in the neighborhood.
