Hats are live
I got one for a starred message around New years eve. I suppose they didn't check if it was 1 Jan 2020 and they gave me one for 1 Jan 2019

5:17 AM
Clicked "I hate hats" for the first time ever. Not strictly true, but there's no more specific feedback option.

Q: Does MS SQL Server have generate_series function

Sahap AsciDoes MS SQL Server have Series Generating Function(s) (aka generate_series) like Postgresql has. If not is there a basic way to implement the function? Timestamp version is preferred I found this question which is an old one. Maybe there is a better solution in new versions.

still "no" afaik, right?

Almost, but not quite in 2019.

anyone mind flagging dba.stackexchange.com/questions/255154 as dupe? i'm still flag-banned :(
just commenting "possible dupe of q/XYZ" doesn't actually do anything, right?

11:20 AM
@PeterVandivier That's system-imposed btw, there's nothing moderators can do to lift it. Four days remaining.

@PaulWhitesaysGoFundMonica i figured, just means i need to go back to flagging less after i'm allowed back in 🤷‍♂️

Or flagging better 😏

i'm curious, do you agree with the declined flags on my history?
tbh i don't think they necessarily warrant declines but... 🤷‍♂️
i guess i don't see how to flag "better" based on the declines, only that i should have a stronger feeling before i do flag
@PeterVandivier i mean, do you think they were "declined" appropriately - that's weird ambiguous phrasing on my part, sry

11:36 AM
@PeterVandivier Well the rude/abusive one certainly looks like an error on your part. The red flags are pretty serious and shouldn't be thrown around lightly. The "migrate to SO" one was wrong, and correctly declined - we should not be migrating crap. The other "should be closed" one was borderline.
It was declined by being Leave Open'd in review.

i don't think i realized the rude flag was a different "type" of flag at the time. tbh - i was thinking about our interaction where you editted out the sassy language on my post w awhile back. since the entire body of the post is baseline "rude", i figured the description was appropriate
the "needs more focus" flag i stand by
the migrate to SO flag - i guess i can see that it should be straight up closed, but i figure since it was bona-fide off-topic on the network, it should be closed on SO, not here

@PeterVandivier There's guidance via the privilege page dba.stackexchange.com/help/privileges/flag-posts
@PeterVandivier That's not how migration works.

since it's bona-fide off topic, there's not a good body of expertise here to either banish it or edit it into a good question

We don't migrate stuff to other sites so people there have to do work to close them.

and thanks for the link but i've reviewed it since the ban before now

11:44 AM
@PeterVandivier Did you follow the links to main meta?

@PaulWhitesaysGoFundMonica i'm saying i don't think it was such a poor question on the face of it that it needs to be blown up, i think it warranted a migration rather than a close
@PaulWhitesaysGoFundMonica some, not all, i did read the excerpt for rude/abusive and i now get that it's a different "type"

yea, i read that

@PeterVandivier You'd have to ask Cole if you want more details. He declined it not me.

The thing being: Flags go out to moderators (on all sites).

11:49 AM
@Johnakahot2use We're talking about main site flags, not chat flags.

Ooops. Sorry.

So seeing as Jack handed in his notice and you are on stand-by that leaves only Cole and Aaron?

@PeterVandivier Ok well you can avoid a declined r/a flag in future in those circumstances by making an edit. Just as I did for "sassy language".
@Johnakahot2use I am actively handling moderation work on dba. Aaron is on a break.

Cool. Welcome Back.

11:52 AM
@PaulWhitesaysGoFundMonica i mean... the entire body of that post is a tirade. removing the sass is removing the post. it's not productive content
and apparently it's worth at least one upvote 🤦‍♂️

The Unbearable Lightness of the Upvote

@PeterVandivier Well it got a down vote from me. I disagree it is a tirade. The opening three words perhaps, but not egregiously so in the context of the question. Definitely not r/a flag material though. It did get one delete vote, but only one.

i get that the r/a flag was the wrong choice now, but i still see no value in the post at all
i've downvoted it now that i know it's staying though

Get to 20k then vote to delete it 🙂
Or post it in the post deletion room.

@PaulWhitesaysGoFundMonica brb, need to quintuple my output on the site for 3 years
@PaulWhitesaysGoFundMonica i suppose i will do. never actually thought to do that tbh

@PeterVandivier Yes. Seen all them.
