I think the naming convention might simply be backwards from what you expect there: there's a package postgresql-server The programs needed to create and run a PostgreSQL server and a package postgresql PostgreSQL client programs (and postgresql does not have a dependency on postgresq...

So yesterday I ordered a sofa and a bookshelf from the Heart Foundation shop and they delivered today but told Irsa that they couldn't take it upstairs. Now I have two sofas and a bookshelf in the living room and I don't have the means to get them upstairs myself.

The phrase 'useless tossers' comes to mind.

I've booked a collection for them to come and pick the items up.

I think I'll get flat pack ones from Ikea. At least I can get those up the stairs without having to rely on third parties to do their job.

I suppose it was too good to be true. Buying secondhand furniture and expecting the vendor to deliver it to where it was actually needed.

We moved my brother a couple weeks ago. Luckily they have an aged dog and all the big furniture moved into the downstairs where they will be living until he passes. But they had some crazy heavy furniture. Had enough people to help that we got him all moved in just a couple trips with the UHaul.

That is ridiculous they didn't deliver to the room. That's like most of the point of delivery in the first place. I know piano movers do charge by the step, though.

I have been listening to audio books recently and am working through a series called Mortal Engines (tl;dr; post apocalyptic setting where cities are mobile and engage in "municipal Darwinism" aka eating other cities).

There is a pirate city called Tunbridge Wheels and I snicker every time I hear it.

Yeah, after I finished the first book I went googling and my first reaction was "I hadn't even heard of it and that was released just last Christmas" but then saw just how poorly it did relative to expense and yeah...

I'll check it out on Plex, but if the books are good, I might read them first.

It's not great but it's "something different." Sometimes there are leaps of how did we get from A to C without ever mentioning B but that could just be a reflection of my ability to listen versus read.

Could also be me drifting off to sleep listening to them ;)

In unrelated news, I made the mistake of listening to Downbelow Station on audiobook. C.J. Cherryh isn't the lightest of reading, and the audiobook went for 19 hours. I elected to read Cyteen in print.

I started listening to Asimov's Foundations and quickly decided that would best be consumed via print. No available audiobooks from Cherrryh at the local library
