> Thanks for your patience, the issue should be resolved now.
I unfortunately don't have any particularly juicy details to share about the underlying cause, but the short version is that we had a route that was hitting Redis when we didn't expect it to hit Redis and that ended up creating too much load in combination with our hourly scheduled routes.

Lost of the same causing issues.

Q: Converting a comment to an answer (again)

Federico PoloniI wrote a comment, and OP asked me to convert it to an answer and expand on it. I cannot simply copy-and-paste it because there is some nontrivial Markdown and Mathjax code in it. I cannot access its source because the 5-minute editing window is expired. Currently my only option is retyping every...

I signed for what it’s worth

12:54 PM
I didn't sign, but I haven't been answering either

It's about moderating, casting votes/flags, etc. Not about answering

Right, but I'm not a moderator so I can't moderate :D
What I can do is not add any further knowledge
or kick people in the shins

@ErikDarling awesome!
@SeanGallardy the more non-moderators we can have signing the letter, the better. As a high-rep user, you can do things like flagging, closing questions, etc., which we ask signatories to not do. Heck even voting is moderating since it sends signals about what is good and what is bad, so none of us mods have even voted on anything since this started.
we're looking to get over a 1,000 signatories, which is impossible if only moderators care about it

1:17 PM
I’m surprised it’s not there already

me too
we're close though

Too bad, that security cache question is awful tempting
Can’t believe I’m missing out on 2-3 upvotes 🫰

you can answer if you like; nothing stopping you

I don't do very much curation / moderation these days, but I have signed as well.

👍

@HannahVernon So answering has limited value because people won't vote as much

@Zikato This is the Way™

There go your redesigned vote buttons, suckers.

HAH
apparently those new vote buttons were super important

I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue give a really long answer
Strikethrough on the first attempt! High five

Right, but I'm not a moderator so I can't moderate :D
@SeanGallardy is going to pass me on the all time rep board soon, and he barely knows how to use this website 🤣😋
@Zikato That's a real accomplishment right there.

@HannahVernon Right, I stopped doing that too. I didn't have whatever account they wanted for me to auth so I just stopped doing the things.
@JoshDarnell All time?! You have much higher rep than I
Also, just an FYI to @ErikDarling your emails, for whatever reason, have been going to my spam folder (I use outlook). Just letting you know in case it's happening to others.

@SeanGallardy Nah, you're right behind me (a scary thought in any other context :P).

Wait, your rep says 50k though

@SeanGallardy have you tried marking them as not spam?

Why would chat in a specific site show your overall rep but the specific site shows your site specific rep? This company.
@ErikDarling I did, Outlook does not like you for some reason. I added you and your domain to the safe senders list and it seems to have fixed it. Still don't know why I needed to, all of a sudden.

1:35 PM
@SeanGallardy maybe someone watched the video where I knocked MI

Just the one :) :D

1:49 PM
@Zikato WOOHOO!!!
I don't think I've ever accomplished that

Ha ha ha

I wonder if we're going to have to all move to expertsexchange one day

@HannahVernon kicked for using the 1st or the 2nd form? I know, I will be kicked for not knowing what is the "correct" one ;)

@ypercubeᵀᴹ hahah, kicked for asking the question. Everyone knows it's pronounced sequel, just like everyone knows that commas belong at the start of the line 👀😁🤣

oh boy, two wrongs doesn't make one right ;)

but if I say it then it's right, right? Surely? no?
people are free to agree with me anytime you know 😂
someone, please agree with me 😛

@HannahVernon Tell that to a person here who has been here a decade and continues to call it "es queue el"

see, this is why not talking to people makes everything so much easier. As text, it makes no difference if you're saying it wrong or right, everyone is automatically right because you read it the way you say it.
talking was a mistake
I am of course kidding, although that doesn't come across in text. I always used to call it es-queue-el, too.

@HannahVernon i agree with the commas at the start of the lines

Q: GPT on the platform: Data, actions, and outcomes

PhilippeIn a meeting with some moderators last week, I committed to releasing the data sets from our initial studies around the efficacy and false positive rates of ChatGPT detectors to them. Tuesday afternoon, we did so. This post contains as much information from that discussion as we are able to share...

8:02 PM
@Zikato @HannahVernon and I agree with the other half of your statement, only. Hth.

8:36 PM
so if you agree with 50% of my statement, and @Zikato agrees with 50% of my statement, that adds up to 100%. Awesome lol
statistics is easy apparently
> we can’t discuss this in more detail publicly without revealing the details of how GPT posts are detected on the platform
so SO is using ChatGPT detection, of some sort.

9:35 PM
I'm impressed and surprised they posted that.
Also really puts some numbers to the rate at which AI is eating SO's lunch, as Paul so eloquently put it the other day.
2 days ago, by Paul White
It's all such a stupid and unnecessary distraction. SO have a real problem on their hands with AI eating their lunch. They don't need to be alienating their free workers.
Although SO's conclusion seems to be that AI is not eating their lunch, excessive suspensions are.

10:01 PM
Have they factored anything in about Google's massive decline in search capability/results quality? I thought Stack Overflow was getting a lot of their traffic from Google. But Google's search has gotten weaker and weaker.

10:18 PM
@ErikDarling Hope you didn't have to go outside much today. The smoke is crazy.

Our new question rate on dba.se appears to have been on a significant decline over the past 3 years; not sure that can be wholly attributed to Google, and certainly not AI.

10:52 PM
All the questions worth asking have been already asked, and some of them even answered. Might as well go into the read-only mode.
Also, 64KB should be enough etc.

11:12 PM
@J.D. I’m in Atlanta for a few days. No smoke for me.
