@EvanCarroll My theory is it's some kind of an overcompensation thing for sitting at home for days on end.

Morning all - nice walk at 07:30 this morning along the beach! Blustery and cold North-Easterly but was warm enough because I kept moving. Last week we had sub-tropical weather, now it's sub-Artic!
@Johnakahot2use - gotta love database humour!
@PeterVandivier what special school did this Gary Johnson chap go to?

@yp
@ypercubeᵀᴹ - this guy likes writing GIF decoders in SQL inter alia - check out his site - some real esoteric stuff!

Quassnoi? Yeah, he has some good stuff there.
I learned how to write OUTER APPLY queries for mysql from one of his posts at SO, many years ago.

@ypercubeᵀᴹ - it's easy to see why he has a stellar rep! I just wish I had the time to study all the weird and wonderful things he manages to do with SQL - I particularly like that he appears to be a PostgreSQL fan!

Q: MySQL deadlock: upsert query acquiring gap lock twice?

Agniva De SarkerI am trying to debug a deadlock scenario which has been puzzling me for quite some time now. I am wondering if someone can shed any light into how this can happen. Here is the deadlock output: ------------------------ LATEST DETECTED DEADLOCK ------------------------ 2019-06-28 14:04:18 0x7fe9a...

Seemingly very well asked question for a newbie.
Worth an upvote I think -- and someone to take a good look at it.
@Vérace :-o
