@ConcernedOfTunbridgeWells It can't be too much longer, surely? They're good for so many use cases. GPU + graph is a fine combination, for example. And there are several GPU-specific DBMS out there already so the need to keep up will only become stronger. Gotta do something to stay in the Gartner quadrant!
I wonder how they'd price it though? 1000+ GPU cores at current per-core prices works out at ... well, something with BIGINT in the result, I'd guess.

@MichaelGreen Folks are also doing neural-net specific GPU variants that can do MMX-style SIMD arithmetic (i.e. thread level rather than warp level). I'm sure you could do something to parallelise string comparisons or bit twiddling operations with that.

Eff me 45 minutes on the phone just to get the permissions to create a folder for SVN what a joke.

@Zane ouch

It's okay at least they fixed the thing.

"your password will expire in 3 days"..... GOOODDDDDAAAAMMMIIIIITTTTTT! stupid password insecurity.

7:14 PM
@MaxVernon LetMaxIn12 by now?

@TomV I'm sure many people on this network do that kind of thing. I generate a random passphrase of 4 words and other characters at random every time, since that seems like the only rational kind of password to have. :-)
It's always CorrectHorseBatteryStapler. ;-)

@MaxVernon sure. I meant the effect such a policy has in general

@TomV yah, that's exactly what pretty much everyone, including my boss, says to do.
so If you did manage to obtain someone's password there is a high likelihood you could guess the correct password even if it has subsequently been changed.
