@AndyK Irrelevant to voting: I suggest you add in the answer the reason for the error message - in the start, before the suggested solutions

why american folks often put in their description things like 'proud father, husband and bla bla'?

12:58 PM
What do people put in their descriptions where you're from @AndyK

@A_V depends, if the twitter account is supposed to be somewhat professional most just state their current and or past positions.

Q: Sqlserver IPV6 handling function or numeric conversion

A_VI'm looking for ways to handle IPv6 CIDR address ranges in SqlServer. The data I obtained is formatted as bellow and has these columns : Int_IP_Start, Int_IP_End, CIDR_Range, ASN, Name for IPv4 "2868826112","2868826623","170.254.208.0/23","265116","Wave Net" "2868827136","2868828159","170.25...

Is it okay to put IPv6 as a tag in dba.stackexchange ? It's as much about data types as ipv6
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1385552/datatype-for-storing-ip-address-in-sql-server
People here saying they store it as VARBINARY(16)
but you still can't search it in that form

@A_V I'm from France

Ah oui bonjour monsieur Andy

1:13 PM
I found it odd, simply but they have the right to do so.
@A_V o\

@AndyK And if it's a non-professional account they put "des conneries"

@TomV I found it weird this thing, to present yourself, proud father, PhD in whatever, veterans. I can't say precisely why I'm bugged by this though. I would find it more interesting to put some "conneries" rather than your list of achievement. My father achieved a lot of things but he is not saying much about it
probably different time, different narratives

2:26 PM
@AndyK Not very weird. They are politicians. Their target audience is people who vote

@ypercubeᵀᴹ smart. very smart.

@ypercubeᵀᴹ Ah he's a politician, I wondered about the Putin remark

3:05 PM
Still, seems a little too odd a thing to emphasize. As if everyone was likely to think the opposite if he didn't say that. An attempt to implicate others who don't state that explicitly? Foolish.
Or maybe there was an impostor who did claim he was taking Putin's orders, and so his goal is to clear his name? Perhaps

@AndriyM I think he just implies that others do (take orders from Putin)

Kind of, "Look at us, what we became, friends of Putin. But I'm not one of them"? Yeah, typically political.

@MDCCL what is your opinion on the dwh sales and promotion question?
I'm thinking about asking him for his current oltp design without assumptions on the star schema and ask for a carte Blanche answer on a suggestion for a star schema
His attempts are confusing me
@maxvernon I commented on your answer because I was busy. Do you plan to include it into your answer or would you prefer me to post a second answer? I don't really have time this week anyway and won't do it from mobile
Re the index size question

7:19 PM
@TomV I was going to add it into my answer, but then I couldn't be bothered any more. Please, feel free to add your own answer!
