I see it's reopened now.
I had seen it earlier in the Reopen queue but didn't have time to read through all that, so I didn't vote.

@TypoCubeᵀᴹ It was kinda 50/50 but they seemed to have put some effort into the edit and the question seems quite promising, but we were wondering what a more 'designy' type person would think.

@MaxVernon You don't actually have to use the trackpoint. I use a bluetooth mouse.

I have 0 idea how serializable works.
man the docs suck.
I can't figure out what this predicate locking does at all. I can see postgresql obtain it. it just doesn't block anything (which is to be expected), but it also doesn't conflict on commit.
Hrmmm...
That's fuxxxxing lame!!!!
I think that's a bug, actually.
Time to ask another question, I guess.

someone read this and see if this makes sense or if I'm off in the woods, dba.stackexchange.com/a/160242/2639
@PaulWhite that's what I was trying to get at earlier with the other answer linked.

@TypoCubeᵀᴹ Thanks! Most philanthropic.

@MartinSmith Not really. I want the last-day-bounty hat!
although it may cost me the 3-times-a-charm one. With the -100 today, I'll probably not make it into 200.
@MartinSmith Aha, the hat is named philanthropist! Didn't remember that ;)

Is the suggested method at the end of this post a good idea? Isn't there a risk that a literal could get parameterized?

"my precious customer" ...

Yeah, that was a nice one.

@TypoCubeᵀᴹ I wish. Some of them do get on my OCD side but I usually can't correct only specific issues when I also see others. And those others are sometimes hard to resolve, so in most cases I end up deciding not touch anything.

and 3 times is a charm!
It appears that the bounty -100 doesn't count, yeah

Restarting to Windows OS. Lets say how many updates it will need.

I am trying to use a column clustered index into my fact table but I don't think the SQL Server 2012 supports this
CREATE CLUSTERED COLUMNSTORE INDEX [CL_IX_FactSales_DateKey] ON [dbo].[FactSales] WITH (DROP_EXISTING = ON);
GO
Msg 35338, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Clustered columnstore index is not supported.
