Hi

Heym just wanted to ask, how do you get so many good questions ?
(on PPCG)
Like you have only been on the site for 2 months, but your stats are super awesome and that's mostly due to your questions

Haha thanks.
I don't know, I guess I have a lot of novel ideas and I'm good at explaining them.

So all of them are your originals, like not from some external resource ?

Yes they are all original, though some here and there may be inspired by other questions or programming problems I've done in the past.

Wow man. That's awesome

I also spend a lot of time on PPCG (mainly writing questions). A good question takes at least an hour to write properly.

Yeah . true.

And frankly, some are just low hanging fruit, like the one i just posted: codegolf.stackexchange.com/questions/38305/…
It didnt take much time to design the cards.

How do you get the ideas for such questions though ?

I really couldn't say. Like I said, some seem obvious. Something akin to the cards one would be "Draw ASCII Chess pieces" (which in fact I almost made, but then cards seemed easier).
Usually (especially for text based challenges) I fiddle around in notepad and try to make up a sequence or shape I haven't seen done before.

I see. So its a lot about spending more time and perspective change.

I guess. I DO usually try to come up with my own ideas rather than rearrange an existing math/programming problem. Then I can be sure I'm not about to make a duplicate, and others may enjoy the novelty.
So yeah, to keep fresh perspective sometimes I think of a random word like "radioactive" and think - half-life - half the particles decay - suppose we make that characters, and thus codegolf.stackexchange.com/questions/37755/radioactive-quines was born.
