First of all, let me say I agree the question was unclear.
However, IMO, the question (even as originally posed) *was* answered by this answer.

I didn't edit the question that much. I fixed the title (having a misleading title is the most common mistake we get here), I added code that the OP him/herself posted on the comments,
and I removed references to the minibuffer (which were clearly mistaken in light of the answer).
