I just read the following, posted in 2019. I'd love to hear from the celestial mechanics! Does the discovery of these galaxies (a) strengthen support for the existence of Dark Matter or (b) strengthen support for the idea that Dark Matter is a mathematical band-aid used to help us understand forces we don't fully understand yet? resonancescience.org/blog/…

@JBH I don't think it really lends or weakens support for dark matter; there's plenty of other evidence to support it, and I think that the case of NGC 1052-DF2 is kinda orthogonal to all of that. There are certainly plenty of scenarios that can explain its makeup.
(I will say that - and this is kinda irrelevant to the question here - the blog is somewhat suspect. . . .)

@HDE226868 That's useful advice. I have no way to judge the blog. It did see odd that the grammar of the post was so poor for a PhD. Thanks for the link to Physics, I'm looking forward to reading though it!
