So apparently according to another website I've grossly overestimated how messed up and crazy parents are capable of being.
Given the horror stories I've seen on places like AskReddit, I found that incredibly surprising.

How are things?
@Malavika Having a nice day?

@Malavika My calves hurt and I'm bleeding but I feel great.

@Malavika Okay. Had a random idea I think might be interesting but I'm trying to make sense of the logistics of it. But apparently according to the writers I talked to, the biggest hurdle to believability is the idea that anyone on earth would be messed up enough to do it.

Given that I've read numerous horror stories of human insanity, cruelty and stupidity, this was a jarring criticism to hear, I must say.

@JasonClyde What's the idea.

So, there are two disabled identical twins. Born with a birth defect. The specific one doesn't matter for the idea but the working one was "missing legs" though I was sure I'd probably need to change it.
The magical shenanigans of my story begin, and one of the first things that happens is that everyone on earth gets a "Full heal". Sicknesses are cured, limbs regrow, disabilities heal, old age is reversed, if you weren't born with it, if it isn't how your genetics say you're supposed to look, it's healed.
And to one of the twins' shock... he, and only he, is healed. His legs grow back. His identical twin brother is still legless.
He later discovers that his parents are... kind of really messed up. Apparently only his brother had the birth defect, but they amputated his legs anyway with their medical knowledge so that the sick brother wouldn't have to live with the humiliation and low self esteem of having a twin brother who's him but objectively better and living the life he deserved to live too.
And he stands there, horrified at basically being told that he was mutilated as an infant to be "fair".
And now that the unexpected supernatural shenanigans have exposed the deceit, the parents go COMPLETELY off the deep end in order to keep people from finding out.

4:41 PM
I can believe it but to make the story read well you'd probably need to put in some clues that the parents were a bit deranged rather than just suddenly springing it.

Yeah, that would be the plan

So, what can I improve on this question?

Q: Could such self-sustaining bunker be built in WW2?

MephistophelesIn this alternate universe, the Nazis didn't have that obsession with race or religion, or the occult, they still had the Lebensraum idea, even if it's now just classic imperialism. Unfortunately, their self-destructive tendencies got amplified a tad bit. Hitler also lost IQ. Hitler's paranoia i...
