but there's a related drug, MBDB, that is said to be more straightforwardly an entactogen, with fewer off-target effects
and it seems like it actually wouldn't be too hard to synthesize given more-or-less the constraints of the question (basic lab glassware, household/light industrial chemicals)

12:48 AM
but I do want a doublecheck on what I was thinking of for a synthetic pathway, if you don't mind @Green?

@Shalvenay What would the purpose be of having a werewolf that's tripping balls? Doesn't seem like that would improve the situation in any meaningful way.
Especially if it has a bad trip. I've heard that MDMA can be used therapeutically, but that generally involves having a willing participant in a safe environment with a professional to guide them through it.

@Shalvenay Because according this article, you treat whatever mental illness the werewolf may have with MDMA. slatestarcodex.com/2019/09/10/…
@Shalvenay Sorry, my wife dominated my attention yesterday evening.

@AndyD273 So you're saying shackles, cocaine, and LSD are not the path to success?

@NexTerren Success depends on what your end goal is. If your end goal is stupid, you probably have to do some stupid things to achieve it.

@AndyD273 Words to live by.

2:11 PM
Mornin all

@James Good morning, James

@NexTerren What shakin?

@James Way too busy. Also going to a wireshark class.

@NexTerren ...I've heard of wireshark before.

@James Network/Internet traffic is sent by lots of little "packages" (packets) of information. Wireshark intercepts, views, and can resend packets.

2:18 PM
@NexTerren yup, one of my guys has been trying to figure out some problems with it this week.

I was doing it in my free time, paying my own $300, taking a half vacation day... boss said he'd count it as work time, and pay for the class. So that's a huge win.

@NexTerren ...they must like you.
I'm just trying to figure out why.

2:51 PM
Anyone use MS Teams at work?

@James Words hurt. Even if perfectly valid.

@NexTerren ...its unfortunate insult battles are out of style.

@James EEEEPPPPIIIIC RAP BATTLES OF STAACK EXCHANGEEEEE
FEATURING NEX THE GREAT AND JAMES THE FUUUUUUNNNCCCTIONAL USSSSER! BEGIN!
(Is that better?)

@NexTerren I can't rap battle, I have negative rhythm

@James Your rhythm is so bad, Tupac didn't die, he just went into hiding after hearing you rap.

3:01 PM
@NexTerren That would be withing the realm of possibility if I had ever rapped...

Your rhythm is so bad, the US Army considers you a national threat each time they order a march.

...Ill admit I did go through a brief phase where I listened to alot of tupac.
@Green You have crappy rhythm too right?
@NexTerren I was in the air force but I admit when I was in basic training I wasn't the best at calling cadence.

Your rhythm is so bad that you think rolling coal engines are rock music.
And that's all I got.

@NexTerren There does seem to be a limit on the quantity of rhythm jokes

@James And very much a limit on the quality of rhythm jokes.

3:13 PM
Yes in Greek is Nai'
Greek is weird

1 hour later…
4:27 PM
@James "Le't, Le't, ri'or, Le't." I did army JROTC in high school. Never made it high enough to call cadence.

@Green It becomes sorta ingrained at a certain point. Your brain just goes on auto-pilot.
It Lx3 Rx1 Lx1 by the way.
...i need to go watch Stripes again.

5:01 PM
@James See? I never had to do cadence.

5:11 PM
@Green It seems intimidating but once you do it for a day it becomes pretty easy...calling commands is a little trickier.

@James 'ight 'face! 'eft 'ace! Fo'ard march! (and I don't remember any of the other commands).

5:50 PM
Left Face, Right Face, About Face, to the right, to the left, to the rear, column left, column right, forward march, halt, double time
uhh...I think that's all of them

6:12 PM
@James Dismissed
Which technically isn't a marching command I guess...

@AndyD273 I suppose you could include Attention, Parade Rest, Rest, fall-in and fall-out. Dismissed technically isn't a marching/formation command, at least in the Air Force.

My knowledge is mostly movies. I just remember the end being something like "Company, dismissed". Though maybe it's "fall-out"...

6:41 PM
@James Yes.

7:10 PM
@Hosch250 What're you yes'ing?

4 hours ago, by James
Anyone use MS Teams at work?

7:32 PM
@Hosch250 Oh gotcha. I was trying to figure out if there is a way to view multiple calendars. We have an admin that is having issues with outlook and they manage like..6 VP's calendars
I couldn't find anything except how to add a group calendar which isn't really helpful.

No idea. I don't have admin privs.
I don't think I can see anyone's calendar but mine with my privs.
Actually, there might be one way.
Set up a meeting and add them all to it.
Then they can see what's on the calendar, anyway, on the setup page.

@Hosch250 Yeah I was looking for something more like outlook where you can have multiples in your view
I posted it on SuperUser...it has two views (which I think were both me) 0 comments and 0 answers...

10:28 PM
@Green the idea is that if you could drug the werewolf out of "kill mode", then you'd have a much easier time following up with more skilled intervention
