Last friday I asked a question here on WB SE:
How to come up with thoughtful positive & negative effect combos for magic items?
and it was put on hold/closed because it was considered "too broad". A mod stated in the comments that there are many answers to my question and they are all opini...
I only pretend I know the DnD lingo, mostly by stringing together loosely understood terms. Like one of those buzzword generators: "We should syndicate real-time e-services." “If we close the loop, we will unfortunately be lagging in organic sustainability.”
@James No, it's just too random. I think that they should have a weighted list, with a much higher weight given to Synergy/synergize.
@Hosch250 I may actually be able to do that when the boss gets back from vacation. He wants me to start looking at a cloud based data management system
I do enjoy using unusual words when I can fit them in. The wife and I went to a fancy banquet with my parents one time, and of course the ladies went to stylists to get extra fancy. So I complimented my mom with something along the lines of "you look very coifed tonight".
This is based off the information found in the link provided by Juraj.
The answer is 2,862,106 earths in a habitable orbit
How to get 2,862,106 earths in a habitable orbit:
Rules, they have to all be exactly the same mass.
Multiple planets can be in the same orbit, so long as there are at least...
So there are these inter-dimensional gates that are basically doors to an alternate plane that is a prison for all the demons that almost armageddoned the world a long long time ago.
There are 4 gates in total
The prison/other dimension is the soul/spirit/whatever of a deity.
To destroy one of the gates the adventurers will have to go inside and destroy some sort of orb/altar thing...a keystone.
The deity set an angel to watch over each keystone when he sacrificed himself yadda yadda
But being entombed with the demons for several millenia has caused the angels to go bad...like...cheese.
So I am picturing a 20 foot tall, black winged angel with dark smoke rising from glowing red eyes.
always consider using waves of stuff, e.g. throw wave-by-wave of smaller demons or such at the players - maybe even prep a bunch of possible waves of small monsters and decide which to throw at them based on their current tactics
I thought of minions and also some warm up/resource eating battles to lead up...but I want them to be expecting that and then to just run into one giant powerful entity.
@NexTerren The short version is they have been guarding a demon prison for a really long time. In that time they have been corrupted, black wings, pale skin, red eyes with smoke rolling out...
The secret being that the god that became the prison they are in basically has a split personality now since he too has been corrupted.
@James i guess you could throw Zariel at them, if you have the demon-minions actually join the party because they are royally fed up with that fallen angel dudette
@dot_Sp0T I am thinking the character needs to have 1) Flyby attack 2) 2d6 necrotic damage bonus on melee attacks 3) 2d8 2h mace attack 4) +10 to hit. AC 18, HP 175
hrm...what else
Thinking a ground slam attack that does 2d8 force damage and knocks them all back and prone DC18
maybe some sort of lair action too...some sort of like...horror ability that makes them think they are surrounded by demons and getting attacked, with a wisdom dc save
