The other answers does answer the original title.
As to why your answer is voted down, down-votes simply indicate disagreement: voters think a middle blade is not important to have.
As to whether they are right, I cannot say.

I don't claim it's important to have though
I also don't see how the other answer answers the original question
They just allude to purported industry leaders not having it, and generalizing.
 
The other answer is indeed short.
