I'm back! :) What adventures I have had in the Elmendorf ICU (not Covid related) since July 24. NOT fun times. But that that doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Right? I hope right.
So, my website will be down for a day or two while I finish it up. When it goes back up, I hope everyone visits it.
If you think I was an open book before, you ain't seen nothing yet.
I treasure my diamond and I'm not the sanest person on the planet right now, so bear with me please as I just work on my very difficult real life for the time being. I am still your mod, I'm just not using my mod hammer until I'm very confident I can do so safely.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
@JohnZhau I only seem to remember my own answers when questions like that come up. SE competitiveness never seems to end. But, maybe you can get some use out of this?

A: How can I train myself to identify flavors better?

JolenealaskaHere's a little story about one successful day of palate training. I would think a similar exercise would work with all kinds of flavors. Just pick a handful of complementary flavors at a time. I went "back home" for a few months a couple of years ago. My dad came to me and asked my help with st...

@Jolenealaska Welcome back! Are you OK? I must admit to some level of worry when you dropped off the radar

@LSchoon Well, I was in the ICU at Elmendorf Air Force Base for over a week (not Covid, my leg mostly) for over a week. So I was not OK for a while there. There is no way to get word out.

Yes, I remember talking on here right when you called the ambulance. How's the leg doing?

@Jolenealaska a full week? Yikes. How is the leg now?

Well, my next big case is Pfizer. The gloves are off there too. I have two years on a kind of "reset" statute of limitations. My leg is not good. But, it's not terribly painful so it's kind of good that it's not good.
The landlord case is a big fat fine for a very deserving bad dude, but no life-changing amount of recovery for me. That's just fine, I like it that way.
Pfizer, on the other hand, owes me a decade of my life.
And Pfizer deserves to pay.
So, after the election, that is my next big project.
I have lawyers now and I have their attention.
Between now and November 3, my mission in life is to get military veterans in Alaska to put down the kool-aid and give our three measly electoral votes to not Trump.
Alaska vets are a huge wild card.
And I know most of them.
Lisa Murkowski doesn't even know it yet, but I am her worst nightmare.
I used to poke her father with great glee as I was legalizing marijuana in this state.
And my new apartment is in view, in actual walking distance for me, from the apartment I did that from in 2000.
20 years almost to the day.
Legalizing marijuana only took 14 years. And I was a big part of it every step of the way. Most vets like that. A lot.
I have a lot of stories for the vets. Many of the same stories I've told here for the past 6 years. I'm over any privacy concerns. I'm on a mission now and telling my stories, warts and all, can turn this state blue in November.
Alaska has more vets per capita than any other state. That's a big part of what makes us weird.
And I have the key.
I was the first female officer of the VFW post that used to be checkpoint one of the Iditarod. Climate change has ruined that.
Climate change has hurt the Iditarod tremendously in the 20 years I've been here. And half the vets still don't believe in it.
I was the first female officer of an American Legion post too.
My war was very short, but it was also the first US war where women were statistically significantly in harm's way. I was not in harm's way, I was a spook. I was a spook because I was tough and smart. And the vets I know, know that.
I can use that. And I will. I will use every weapon in my arsenal until the fight against Trump is over.
Just like with Weidner.

Hoo-rah

6:02 PM
So, I was on hold for three hours last night with Go Daddy. The call was then dropped. So, @LSchoon Still up for helping me?
The billionaire can no longer hurt me in any legal way, and the whole point now is making what was semi-private for 6 years very public, so I'll take any help I can get. Even if I haven't known you for years. :)

@Jolenealaska Yes, sorry. Was away a while, happy to help out. I remember something about a paypal button and did actually look into that before you got taken to hospital. If you managed to save my Skype details shoot me a message on there

1 hour later…
9:14 PM
I did not manage to save those so ping me when you're ready and I'll get them again.

@Jolenealaska I don't have time to actually be useful tonight but I can at least give you my contact info now, if you're ready

I am now!
Great. When is a good time to call?

9:30 PM
There's quite an inconvenient time difference. Tomorrow, I can do either around 11:30pm (for you), or any time between 3am and about 9am
That's assuming you're in (the same time zone as) Anchorage. Message me on Skype and I'll get back to you ASAP, have to sign off for now unfortunately

time zones mean nothing to me. I sleep when I want to. So pick a time that's best for you.
And I'll message you soonish.
